Abstract: A vehicle lamp assembly includes a lamp lens having a smooth surface and a contoured surface. The contoured has a first portion, a second portion and a central section that together define a linear Fresnel lens. The first portion has a plurality of first parallel grooves and projections shaped to direct light passing therethrough in predetermined directions. The second portion has a plurality of second parallel grooves and projections shaped to direct light passing therethrough in directions approximately parallel to the predetermined directions of the first portion. The central section is disposed between the first portion and the second portion and has a first section with a vertex located a first distance from the smooth surface and a second section with a vertex located a second distance away from the smooth surface. The first section and the second section are adjacent to one another.

Abstract: A method of positioning a vehicle during a parking operation includes positioning a vehicle in a parked position during a first parking operation, and detecting a distance of the vehicle from an object when the vehicle is in the parked position. The distance is stored in a vehicle memory. The distance from the object is recalled during a second parking operation with the vehicle. An indication is provided during the second parking operation when the vehicle is spaced from the object by the distance.

Abstract: Multi-acid polymers are produced having the formula R—SO2—NH—R′—(SO3H)n and made from a polymer precursor in sulfonyl fluoride form or sulfonyl chloride form The R is one or more units of the polymer precursor without sulfonyl fluoride or sulfonyl chloride, R′ is the portion of the amino sulfonic acid without the SO3H and NH, n is one or more, and the multi-acid polymer has two or more proton conducting groups. A method of making the multi-acid polymers includes reacting an amino acid having multiple sulfonic acids with a polymer precursor in sulfonyl fluoride form or sulfonyl chloride form in a mild base condition to produce the multi-acid polymer having two or more proton conducting groups.

Abstract: An off-road vehicle speed control assembly that includes a speed control device, a speed sensor, tire pressure sensors and an electronic controller. The speed control device controls speed of a vehicle power plant. The electronic controller is in electronic communication with the speed control device, the speed sensor and the plurality of tire pressure sensors and is configured to operate the speed control device in at least two different modes of operation: a normal mode in which the plurality of tires are inflated to a high-speed tire pressure; and, a first off-road mode in which the plurality of tires are inflated to a first off-road tire pressure that is less than the high-speed tire pressure. In the normal mode, speeds of the vehicle are unrestricted by the electronic controller. In the first off-road mode, speed of the vehicle is restricted.

Abstract: A dynamic damper includes a resilient material, an annular mass and a metallic split ring. The resilient material has a central bore formed therethrough dimensioned to receive a vehicle axle. The central bore defines a first inner diameter. The annular mass is surrounded and embedded in the resilient material. The annular mass defines a second inner diameter greater than the first inner diameter. The metallic split ring is embedded within the resilient material along a portion of the surface of the central bore with locking protrusions extending into the central bore. Ends of the locking protrusions define a third inner diameter smaller than the first inner diameter. The locking protrusions is dimensioned to extend into openings in the vehicle axle locking the metallic split ring, the resilient ring and the annular mass to the vehicle axle.

Abstract: A running board for a vehicle is disclosed that includes: a body; a plurality of retainers that are connected to the body so as to collectively define a receiving space; and an insert that is configured for insertion into the receiving space. The body of the running board includes: a deck; an outer flange that extends downwardly from the deck; and an inner flange that extends downwardly from the deck in generally parallel relation to the outer flange. The outer flange includes at least one opening forming a decorative element, and the insert is configured for engagement with the plurality of retainers to thereby secure the insert in generally parallel relation to the outer flange adjacent to the decorative element.
