    Abstract: A method of preparing a multilayer coating is described. The method comprises the steps of:(1) applying onto a substrate a first curable coating composition comprising two components that are reactive with one another to form urethane linkages and a third component that includes one or more epoxy groups,(2) curing the first curable coating composition to form a cured coating,(3) applying a second curable coating composition onto the surface of the coating from step (2), and(4) curing the second curable coating composition.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a process of coating a finish film and one endless edge which comprising applying to said film and edge a heat curable coating composition containing an organic solvent, a lacquer additive and (a) from about 40 to about 85 parts by weight of an acetal and hydroxy functional resin; (b) from about 3 to about 20 parts by weight of an aminoplast resin; and (c) from about 0 to about 40 parts by weight of a polyester resin; and curing the wet film at a temperature between about 120 degrees C., to about 200 degrees C.

    Abstract: A higher solid coating composition comprises a solid resin mixture of polyol resin and alkyletherified melamine resin, 0.2.about.10 parts by weight of an aliphatic sulfonic acid compound and 1.about.100 parts by weight of a non-aqueous polymer dispersion based on 100 parts by weight of the resin mixture. The non-aqueous polymer dispersion consists of (a) organic solvent component, (b) particle component insoluble in the component (a), and (c) particular dispersion stabilizer component soluble in the component (a) and capable of stably dispersing the component (b) into the component (a).
