    Abstract: A tailgate adjuster in a preferred example comprises an adjustably locking rotatable bracket comprising a plurality of rotatably linked shank components, with at least one shank component joined to a sprocket component having a plurality of sprocket teeth, and at least one other shank component joined to a rotatable trigger component having a sprocket-engaging trigger tooth. The trigger component is preferably spring biased to maintain the trigger tooth in an engaged position with the sprocket teeth, and can be adjusted to disengage the trigger component from the sprocket teeth. The sprocket teeth are spaced to permit the locking of shank components at a desired angle to each other. Holes at each end of the tailgate adjuster permit the rotatable mounting of one such end to a vehicle tailgate or hatchback and the other end to a fixed location of the vehicle. In other examples the invention concerns a tailgate-reinforcing sheath and methods for maintaining a vehicle tailgate or other hinged door, gate or window in a one of a plurality of partly open positions.

    Abstract: A door opening and closing apparatus including a lock mechanism that is configured to hold the door in a fully closed state, and that has an engaging member which engages with a lock member provided in the door when in the fully closed state. A link mechanism having a plurality of link members is configured to be able to undergo deformation into a linear state and a bent state, and restricts rotation of the engaging member by being brought into the linear state. In the link mechanism, a first face is pressed by a projecting shaft moved by the actuator in order that the link mechanism changes from the linear state to the bent state, and a second face is pressed by the projecting shaft in order that the link mechanism changes from the bent state to the linear state.

    Abstract: A door stopper may include a control unit, a connecting piece and a rod. The control unit is anchored to the floor. One end of the connecting piece is connected to the control unit and the rod is mounted on the other end of the connecting piece. When the user needs the door to be retained, he/she can move the door toward the door stopper and slightly contact the top portion of the control unit to activate it, and the control unit will start to drive the connecting piece along with the rod to move about ninety degrees away from the wall to stop the door. Namely, the door stopper moves a quadrant from the lower portion of the wall surface to a lower portion of the door, and the door will be trapped between the control unit and the rod.
