Abstract: A system for the fixing and/or emergency opening of a leaf of a door, a window or the like comprises a drive having at least one mechanical energy storage device, which is charged by an opening movement of the leaf and is discharged by a closing movement of the leaf, at least one electric motor, the motor shaft of which is operatively connected to the leaf, and open-loop and/or closed-loop control electronics for actuating the electric motor. The electric motor can be actuated by means of the open-loop and/or closed-loop control electronics both for generator-like damping of the leaf movements and for fixing of the leaf against the force of the mechanical storage device and/or for electric motor-driven emergency opening of the leaf, in that the electric motor additionally can be supplied with external electrical energy from an external device, in particular such as a smoke detector control unit, a smoke and heat extraction control unit or the like, for the fixing and/or emergency opening of the leaf.

Abstract: In an aspect, a vehicle door control system for a vehicle having a vehicle body and a vehicle door is provided, and includes a check arm having an end that is mounted to one of the vehicle body and the vehicle door, a check arm holder at least a portion of which is mounted to the other of the vehicle body and the vehicle door, and a controller. The check arm holder is configured to apply at least three different amounts of braking force to the check arm. The controller is programmed to control the operation of the check arm holder based on input from at least one sensor.

Abstract: A tailgate adjuster in a preferred example comprises an adjustably locking rotatable bracket comprising a plurality of rotatably linked shank components, with at least one shank component joined to a sprocket component having a plurality of sprocket teeth, and at least one other shank component joined to a rotatable trigger component having a sprocket-engaging trigger tooth. The trigger component is preferably spring biased to maintain the trigger tooth in an engaged position with the sprocket teeth, and can be adjusted to disengage the trigger component from the sprocket teeth. The sprocket teeth are spaced to permit the locking of shank components at a desired angle to each other. Holes at each end of the tailgate adjuster permit the rotatable mounting of one such end to a vehicle tailgate or hatchback and the other end to a fixed location of the vehicle. In other examples the invention concerns a tailgate-reinforcing sheath and methods for maintaining a vehicle tailgate or other hinged door, gate or window in a one of a plurality of partly open positions.

Abstract: A door stopper may include a control unit, a connecting piece and a rod. The control unit is anchored to the floor. One end of the connecting piece is connected to the control unit and the rod is mounted on the other end of the connecting piece. When the user needs the door to be retained, he/she can move the door toward the door stopper and slightly contact the top portion of the control unit to activate it, and the control unit will start to drive the connecting piece along with the rod to move about ninety degrees away from the wall to stop the door.
