    Abstract: An elevator vandalism monitoring system is configured to determine if an act of vandalism upon a component of an elevator system has occurred. The vandalism monitoring system includes a sensor, a processor, an electronic storage medium, a model, and a comparison module. The sensor is configured to monitor a detectable parameter associated with the component, and output a detectable parameter signal. The processor is configured to receive the detectable parameter signal. The model is stored in the electronic storage medium, and is associated with an expected parameter. The comparison module is executed by the processor, and is configured to generally compare the model to the detectable parameter signal for determining if a parameter anomaly exists.

    Abstract: Elevator systems are provided. The systems include an elevator car movable along an elevator shaft, the shaft having a pit floor and a shaft top, the elevator car having an elevator car door sill. A plurality of landings are arranged along the elevator shaft, wherein each landing has a landing door. A car apron assembly is provided that includes a car apron attached to the elevator car at the elevator car door sill, a first triggering element connected to at least one landing door, and a second triggering element operably connected to the car apron. The car apron is deployable from a stowed state to a deployed state when the first triggering element engages and actuates the second triggering element.

    Abstract: A damping device for damping movement of a parked car in an elevator system includes a base plate and at least one damping assembly connected to the base plate. The damping assembly includes a flange extending from the base plate, a support member arranged at a distance from the flange, and at least one damping mechanism having a first end connected to the flange and a second end connected to the support member. The at least one damping assembly restricts movement of the support member toward the flange.

    Abstract: A method of unlocking an elevator car door or an elevator car is provided including operating a door operator. A link arm of a car door interlock operably coupled to the door operator is rotated. If the elevator car is positioned within a landing door zone, an engagement link coupled to the link arm is configured to pivot relative to the link arm to disengage from an electrical contact. If the elevator car is not positioned within a landing door zone, the engagement link does not pivot relative to the link arm and remains engaged with the electrical contact.

The fault diagnosis method for diagnosing a fault in the interaction between the machine passenger and the elevator system via the interaction management apparatus includes: acquiring diagnostic information from the elevator system and the interaction management apparatus; simulating an interaction process between the machine passenger and the elevator system via the interaction management apparatus based on the acquired diagnostic information; and judging a fault type of interaction between the machine passenger and the elevator system based on the simulated interaction process.
