Abstract:
A process for the preparation of a synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide by a combination of catalytic partial oxidation and further an autothermal reforming process, comprising (a) providing separate streams of predetermined proportions of a hydrocarbon feedstock, an oxygen source and of process steam, (b) injecting said separate streams into a catalytic partial oxidation reaction zone to react, and to form a prereformed product stream, (c) introducing the prereformed product and a predetermined proportion of a second oxygen source into a further partial oxidation process step forming a further partially oxidised process stream by flame reactions, (d) reacting the further partially oxidised process stream in the reaction zone constituting a steam reforming process step to form a synthesis gas product stream, and (e) withdrawing the synthesis gas product stream from the further partial oxidation process step and the steam reforming process step, the two steps constituting the autothermal reforming process.

Method of preparing zeolite single crystals with straight mesopores by applying a synthesis gel with zeolite precursor composition within the pore system and on the surface of a particulate matrix material template of carbon comprising the steps of: providing a templating material with a diameter of 2 to 50 nanometers and a length-to-diameter aspect ratio of at least 5, applying the zeolite precursor to the surface of the templating material using sequential impregnation, subjecting the precursor composition to crystallising conditions, and isolating porous single zeolite crystals with straight mesopores by removing the matrix template material.
Abstract:
A process for the production of alumina comprising: (a) dissolution of Gibbsite (A12O3, 3H2O) in nitric acid providing an acid solution of aluminum nitrate products; (b) decomposition at 300-700null C. with free air supply of the acid solution to alumina and Nox; (c) regeneration of the formed NOX to concentrated nitric acid and recycling of produced nitric acid to step (a); and (d) recovery of the alumina product formed in step (b) by means selected from spraying onto the inner surface of one or more rotary kilns, drying in a fluid bed, and drying in a steel band conveyor furnace.
Abstract:
Process and reactor for the preparation of ammonia at elevated pressure and temperature in an ammonia reactor, wherein a process stream of ammonia synthesis gas is successively passed through at least three catalyst beds with intermediate cooling of partially reacted synthesis gas leaving the catalyst beds by heat exchange in heat exchangers arranged between each catalyst bed. The process stream is obtained by combining prior to introduction into a first catalyst bed, a first feed stream of synthesis gas having been preheated through indirect heat exchange during the intermediate cooling of the partially converted synthesis gas and a second feed stream of synthesis gas for adjustment of temperature of the process stream. The first feed stream is passed successively through the interbed heat exchangers for cooling the partially converted synthesis gas and space velocity of the synthesis gas is adjusted to be substantially in the same range in all catalyst beds.
