    Abstract: According to an example, in a method, an access point may determine whether the access point is to function as an unconnected mesh portal in a wireless mesh network. In response to a determination that the access point is to function as an unconnected mesh portal in the wireless mesh network, the access point may use a self-assigned Internet Protocol (IP) addressing technique to obtain an IP address for the access point. In addition, the access point may implement a stored static mesh key to form the wireless mesh network with another access point and to output configuration information to the another access point.
