Abstract: An energy-efficient implementation of a WiFi transceiver is proposed in this disclosure. The WiFi transceiver comprises a receive chain comprising a variable receive (Rx) filter circuit and a variable Rx analog-to-digital converter (ADC) circuit. The receive chain is configured to receive a receive signal during a receive mode of operation, having a receive bandwidth associated therewith and receive a transmit signal associated with a transmit chain of the transceiver during a transmit mode of operation, having a transmit bandwidth associated therewith. The WiFi transceiver further comprises a control circuit configured to dynamically adapt a bandwidth of the variable Rx filter and the variable Rx ADC in the receive chain to the receive bandwidth or to the transmit bandwidth, based on the mode of operation.

Abstract: An example method of operation may include identifying, in a particular room environment, a number of speakers and one or more microphones on a network controlled by a controller and amplifier, providing test signals to play sequentially from each amplifier channel of the amplifier and the speakers, monitoring the test signals from the one or more microphones simultaneously to detect operational speakers and amplifier channels, providing additional test signals to the speakers to determine tuning parameters, detecting the additional test signals at the one or more microphones controlled by the controller, and automatically establishing a background noise level and noise spectrum of the room environment based on the detected additional test signals.

Abstract: Envelope tracking power amplifiers with advanced gain shaping are provided. In certain implementations, a power amplifier system includes a power amplifier that amplifies a radio frequency (RF) signal and an envelope tracker that controls a voltage level of a supply voltage of the power amplifier based on an envelope of the RF signal. The power amplifier system further includes a gain shaping circuit that generates a gain shaping current that changes with the voltage level of the supply voltage from the envelope tracker. For example, the gain shaping circuit can include an analog look-up table (LUT) mapping a particular voltage level of the supply voltage to a particular current level of gain shaping current. Additionally, the gain shaping circuit biases the power amplifier based on the gain shaping current.

Abstract: A program gain amplifier includes an operational amplifier and a capacitor array. The capacitor array includes a first, second, and third capacitors selectively coupled to the operational amplifier or ground according to a first, second, and third switches, respectively. The first, second, and third capacitors have a first, second, and third capacitance, respectively. The third capacitance equals a sum of the first and second capacitance. In a first configuration, the first and second switches are operated at a first conductive state, and the third switch is operated at a second conductive state. When converting to a second configuration from the first configuration, the third switch is operated at the first conductive state, and the first and second switches are operated at the second conductive state. The gain being provided to an input signal in the first and second configurations are the same.

Abstract: Provided is a phase array receiver. A phase array receiver according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a plurality of antennas, a plurality of low-noise amplifiers, a plurality of phase shifters, a plurality of transconductors, and a frequency mixer. A plurality of low-noise amplifiers amplify RF signals received from the plurality of antennas. The plurality of phase shifters adjusts the phase of the RF signals to generate a plurality of RF phase adjustment signals. The plurality of transconductors convert a plurality of RF phase adjustment signals into a plurality of RF current signals based on the gain control signal. The frequency mixer converts a sum of the plurality of RF current signals into a mixed current signal. According to the inventive concept, the linearity of the signal processing may be improved and the area for the implementation of the phase array receiver may be reduced.
