Abstract: Thermoset bulk molding compounds (BMC) useful for making electrically conductive components such as bipolar plates for fuel cells are described. The thermoset bulk molding compounds incorporate graphene nanoplatelets to increase the through-plane electrical conductivity by at least 20% compared to BMCs without the graphene nanoplatelets. Additionally, these compositions have low shrinkage, low density for lightweight parts, and are easily processed. The compositions can be used to prepare a variety of electrically conductive components, including bipolar plates for fuel cells and chemical storage batteries that operate at temperatures of less than 100° C.

Abstract: A thermoset bulk molding compound useful for making automotive components such as headlamps, as well as other articles of manufacture are described. The composition incorporates moisture absorbing components such as molecular sieves to absorb water present in the compound before molding, thus reducing or eliminating mold defects while retaining the physical properties needed for automotive applications. This results in an as-molded composition with a gloss measured at 60° of greater than 85 GU that can be, without the necessity of a base coat, metallized directly and have reflector quality and durability. The metallized molded components can undergo additional steps such as applying protective sealant layers, as required by the automotive application. The removal of water before molding and the direct metallization reduces the production time of the molded articles.

Further provided is a specific order of addition of constituents of the drill-in fluid, which results in improved filter cake performance and/or filter cake removal.

Abstract: Degradable material for treatment fluids for use in fluid loss control, diversion, and plugging operations, methods of preparing the degradable material, and methods of using the degradable material in treatment fluids are disclosed. The degradable materials are polymer-based solid acid precursor particles that have been partially or fully coated with an anti-caking agent to prevent agglomeration of the polymer-based solid acid precursor particles during storage and transport. These coated polymer-based solid acid precursor particles can then be added to a variety of treatment fluids to temporarily create a physical barrier to fluid flow before degrading and generating acids that can be used in other treatment operations. This degradable coated polymer-based solid acid precursor additive can be combined with other traditional downhole additives such surfactants, viscosifiers, and biocides, allowing for a wide variety of applications in hydrocarbon reservoirs.

Abstract: Novel completion fluid compositions for fluid loss control during completion and workover operations conducted on a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation are disclosed. In particular, the composition is a weighted brine fluid having a polymetaphosphate composition, a biopolymer suspension agent, and a fluid loss control additive. These novel compositions provide a means to temporarily seal a wellbore communicating with a subterranean formation to enable completion or workover operations to be performed, after which the composition can be removed by contact with an acidic composition.
