Abstract:
A system and method for manufacturing wire and cable products with a polymer cable component is provided. The systems and methods include increasing the hardness of a polymer cable component in order to reduce compression and deformation of the cable components during manufacturing. In some instances, the hardness is temporarily increased prior to or during the process of creating twisted pair or during the cabling process.

Compatibilizers are disclosed that enable the formation of stable alloys of fluoropolymers with cyclic olefin copolymers (COC). The alloys are useful for many purposes, such as high frequency electronics. Methods of making the compatibilizer and the alloy are further provided.
Abstract:
Composite binder materials for energy storage applications are disclosed. The composite binder materials include a fluoropolymer, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), integrated with a conductive additive and a low-melting point thermoplastic. Methods of making the composite binder materials are also disclosed. The methods include providing an emulsion of the fluoropolymer, mixing the low-melting point thermoplastic and the particulate conductive additive into the emulsion of the fluoropolymer to form a mixture, and coagulating the mixture to produce a coagulum including the composite binder material. The disclosure also provides a binder powder for an electrochemical device capable of providing an electrode mixture sheet having excellent uniformity of tensile strength. The disclosure relates to a binder powder for an electrochemical device, containing a non-fibrillated fibrillatable resin and a thermoplastic polymer.

Abstract:
A communications cable is provided that includes a pair of twisted pair of wires, each coated with a fluoropolymer insulator. The twisted pair of wires is configured to carry a differential signal, such as a differential data signal and/or a differential power signal. The fluoropolymers are highly effective insulators and significantly reduce both the effects of internal and external electromagnetic interference while maintaining low cable attenuation, even when operating within a temperature range of −40° C. to 150° C.
