Abstract:
A thermoforming trim press has one or more connecting arms for a movable platen which each have a pivotal connection between the adjacent ends of two adjacent sections into which each connecting arm is divided. The pivotal connection is normally locked to keep the sections in end to end alignment during normal press operation, but can be released to allow pivoting between the sections to be able to draw the movable platen further back from the normal retracted position to increase the available clearance when changing or maintaining tools mounted on the movable platen. The pivoting ability of the connecting arm sections also simplifies adjusting the stroke of the press while this is normally done by relocating a crank pin on flywheels driving the connecting arms. The change of position does not affect the movable platen when the arm sections may pivot with respect to each other allowing relocating the crank pins to adjust the stroke without requiring disassembling of the crank pins. A counterweight may be driven by the crank pins to match the press stroke adjustments and to thereby correspond the movement of the counterweight to the movement of the movable platen.
Abstract:
An apparatus operable to seal an opening in an aircraft fuel tank during a pressure test of the fuel tank is described. The apparatus includes a substantially dome shaped body having a perimeter. The body further includes a rim extending in an orthogonal direction about the perimeter and a flange extending in a normal direction from the rim and about the perimeter. The flange is sized to engage the fuel tank about the opening. The apparatus further includes a sealing gasket proximate an intersection of the rim and the flange, extending completely around the perimeter. The seal is oriented to provide a sealing function between the fuel tank and the body as pressure is increased within the fuel tank.
Abstract:
An physiological data acquisition apparatus includes three or more leads, at least one AC current source, a switching mechanism structured to selectively couple the current source to selected lead pairs to inject an AC current across the selected lead pairs which produces an AC voltage across the selected lead pair, and a processing device. The processing device is structured to (i) determine an impedance across the current selected lead pair based on the AC voltage, (ii) determine whether the impedance is less than a predetermined threshold, (iii) if the impedance is less than the predetermined impedance threshold cause the current selected lead pair to be used for generating physiological parameter data, and (iv) if the impedance is not less than the threshold cause the switching mechanism to couple the at least one AC current source to a new selected pair of the leads.
Abstract:
A tip-resistant valve plug includes a valve head, first and second retention legs, and an anti-tip fin. The valve head includes a continuous partition defining a fluid barrier between a sealing side and an external side of the valve head. Each of the first and second retention legs extend from a leg base positioned at the sealing side of the valve head to a distal end of the retention leg. Each of the first and second retention legs include a plug catch configured to interfere with an inside diameter of a fluid flow orifice or a pressure relief spring. The respective distal ends of the retention legs are spaced apart from one another, and the anti-tip fin extends from the sealing side of the valve head in a direction of the respective distal ends of the retention legs.
Abstract:
A thermoformer apparatus has sheet supporting rails which are divided into sections hinged together to facilitate widening of the spacing between the rails with adjuster drive mechanism as the sheet moves through an oven to eliminate sagging of the sheet as it becomes heated. Thermoformer chains are driven by a pair of independently operable servo motors each associated with a respective thermoformer chain.
Abstract:
A cylinder vacuum cleaner comprising a main body which is fluidly connected to a suction hose used to pull the main body forwards along a floor, and a front swivel castor for supporting the main body on the floor, the front castor comprising a frame mounted for rotation about a swivel axis and one or more wheels mounted on the frame, the hose being connected to the frame for co-rotation with the frame about the swivel axis, wherein the swivel axis is positively raked.
Abstract:
An upright cleaning appliance having a handle for maneuvering the appliance across a floor. The handle is secured on a reclining upright body of the appliance for rotation about a longitudinal axis of the upright body. The handle includes a forward-extending handgrip portion which terminates in an abutment flange for preventing the handgrip portion from slipping out through the bottom of a user's grip.
Abstract:
A photoluminescent device and a photoluminescent exit sign. The photoluminescent device includes a polymer matrix having a light-emitting exterior surface for emission of photoluminescent light therefrom. The photoluminescent device has a plurality of UV or visible-light excited phosphor particles included in the polymer matrix. The phosphor particles have a concentration greater in an exterior region of the polymer matrix proximate the light-emitting exterior surface than in an interior region of the polymer matrix. The exit sign includes at least two plates interlocked together with at least one typographical character disposed on the plates. The typographical character is formed from the polymer matrix containing the phosphor particles.
Abstract:
The design is a combination of left and/or right three-finger-gloves integrated with various attachment garments. The gloves help guard against unwanted hand contact with foreign surfaces while the attachment garment provides various utility and fashion functions. The size and shape of the hand covers are specifically designed to enable the wearer to easily slip into and remove. The glove design prevents moisture intrusion while providing a non-slip grip surface and the added dexterity of a three-finger hand cover. The preferred embodiment includes connecting the hand covers together by way of an over-the-shoulder strap garment worn on the outside of normal apparel. The materials used for construction can vary depending on user preference including cloth, leather, man-made fabrics, or bonded fibers such as paper or felt.
Abstract:
A portable data storage device compatible with both standard and high definition digital video cameras is provided. The device includes at least one SDI I/O, and preferably at least one audio I/O and preferably at least one medium speed I/O interface. A device controller takes the high speed serial data, packetizes it, and then sends it out to a plurality of memory modules. Preferably each memory module includes four NAND clusters, each NAND cluster consisting of a flash memory controller and two NAND flash memories. Interposed between the device controller and the memory modules are a plurality of memory controllers, each memory controller controlling a group of memory modules. A user interface is coupled to the device controller, the interface including a display capable of at least two user-selectable orientations, record/playback controls and a four-way directional control pad.
