Abstract:
The present invention is a process comprising contacting a compound of formula 6: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; with a deprotecting reagent to form a compound of formula A: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; where R is H or OR1; R1 and each R1′ are protecting groups; R1″ is H or OH, and n is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
Abstract:
Techniques for a data repository, e.g., a data warehouse, connect multiple disparate systems and combine different software tools to provide a full view of the data warehouse for an end user. An inventory tool integration and services interface includes a tool integration component, a common data component, and an inventory services component. The tool integration component obtains data sets from different tools. The common data component converts each data set and combines the converted data sets. The inventory services component provides the combined data sets through a user interface for an end user. The inventory tool integration and services interface appropriately combines data sets and supports different user interfaces for different end users having different roles within an enterprise. The tool and services integration interface also may obtain a data set from a tool in accordance with an integration option.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for dynamically sizing, structuring and operating advertisements that include a variety of content, including interaction prompts and other elements, which enable an engagement-based revenue generation model. According to one embodiment, a computer implemented method comprises storing advertising content, serving an XML file from an advertising server to an advertisement manager in order to control a player on a user computer, dynamically generating the advertisement through the player based on directions from the advertisement manager and the stored content, and tracking and reporting a user's engagement with the advertisement in order to determine compensation for the publisher.
Abstract:
A visual interactive multi-criteria decision-making method and computer-based apparatus for portfolio management. The method/apparatus supports partitioning of a portfolio of physical or other assets into two mutually exclusive categories, such as assets recommended for sale and assets recommended for retention. The method/apparatus utilizes one or more coupled 2-D projections of the portfolio in criteria space. The user interacts with the projections to express and record preferences.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filtration and predistribution device (4) comprising: a flat plate (5) perforated by holes, each hole being overhung by a vertical hollow duct (6) that includes at least one slot passing through the lateral wall thereof, a filtration bed (7) placed on the plate surrounding said ducts, comprising at least one layer of hollow filtering elements (8) that are larger in size than the slots of the ducts, said filtering element being obtained by winding, in touching and/or non-touching turns, a wire of cross section (s) so as to have at least one closed end and having a [free area (Sfree) of the element/area (Sm) occupied by the wire] ratio of between 2 and 50%. The invention also relates to the use of this device (4) for filtering and predistributing at least one particle-laden liquid upstream of a fixed catalytic bed (12) of a reactor.
Abstract:
Computer-based systems and methods for a multi-state advertisement displayed at a fixed position on a primary display space of a display device. The fixed position advertisement remains in its fixed position in view of the user as the user scrolls the web page in various directions. A plurality of events trigger a change in the state of the multi-state advertisement, with the change in state resulting in a change of the advertisement content, shape, size, style and appearance. An embodiment deploys an initial video in combination with a billboard. When the interstitial video ends, the fixed position advertisement is sized down to a less obtrusive size, with the billboard and the interstitial video replaced with a navigation bar.
Abstract:
A system includes a comparator that triggers a signal indicating an event occurrence of a moving element of a machine that is sensed by a sensor. The signal is triggered in response to a raw signal from the sensor exceeding a trigger level. Logic calculates a hold off time for re-triggering of the signal, and a timer monitors expiration of the hold off time. A trigger screener monitors amplitude of the raw signal and accepts a triggering of the signal from the comparator in response to expiration of the hold off time and the raw signal exceeding a re-trigger level.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for securing a flexible pipe (101) to a further flexible pipe (102) in an end-to-end configuration. The apparatus includes an elongate tubular element (30) comprising a first and second end (33, 34) and an outer surface comprising a raised central region (35). At least one vent passage (55) extends at least partially across the raised central region (35).
Abstract:
A method and an engine are disclosed for determining an amount of fuel in the engine oil. Such information can be used to recommend an oil change and to estimate a fraction of biodiesel in the fuel supplied to the engine. According to one embodiment, actual oil volume in the oil pan is based on a signal from a level sensor in the oil and a theoretical oil volume is determined based on initial oil volume and fuel entering the oil in the oil pan, fuel leaving the oil pan due to evaporation, and oil being consumed in the combustion chamber. Based on the difference between the actual and theoretical oil volumes, a proportion of biodiesel can be determined and transmitted to an engine control system.
Abstract:
A strength-enhanced lightweight cabinet system that employs a combination of lightweight composite materials is disclosed. The materials employ a combination of different processes to create a lightweight cabinet system that is structurally sound and functional. In aspects, the combination utilizes two reaction injection molding processes, and one conventional injection molding process. One of the reaction injection molding processes is IVCR (Improved Vinyl Clad Rigid) while the other is T-RIM™. The combination of these materials and processes results in a cabinet system that reduces the weight considerably over a conventional steel and/or combination of steel and other materials that is used in heavy truck sleeper cabs today.
