Abstract:
A centrifuge for separating feed material into component parts, in one aspect primarily solid and primarily liquid parts, the centrifuge, in certain aspects, including a conveyor rotatably mounted in a rotatable housing, the conveyor having an interior and at least one impeller, the rotatable housing having a separating region with a pool area and a beach area with feed material passable through the interior of the conveyor, the feed material directed radially by the impeller(s) and spread by the impeller(s), in certain aspects along the conveyor or part thereof, onto part of the pool area, and/or in certain aspects onto the beach area.
Abstract:
A storage case (1) for a compact disc (2) comprises an outer shell (4) within which an inner carrier (5) for storing the compact disc (2) is slideable between an open and a closed position. The compact disc (2) is stored in a disc storing area (20) between a lower support plate (15) and an upper retaining member (19) of the inner carrier (5). Guide plates (25, 26) slideably guide the compact disc (2) into and out of the disc storing area (20). Resilient disc engaging clips (30) on a rear end wall (17) of the inner carrier (5) resiliently urges the compact disc (2) against corresponding abutment members (33) on the front end wall (16) for securing the compact disc (2) against sideward sliding from the disc storing area (20). The combination of the disc engaging clips (30) and the guide plates (25, 26) avoid the need for a central locating spigot for engaging a central opening of the compact disc (2).
Abstract:
A conveyor for a centrifuge and a centrifuge with such a conveyor, the conveyor having a plurality of spaced-apart flight members spaced apart along its length, a plurality of support members extending between, and connected to the flight members, the support members spaced-apart around the flight members, the members and support members defining a plurality of open areas through which fluid to be treated by the centrifuge is flowable from within the conveyor out into the bowl. In one aspect, a fluid velocity decreasing chamber is provided between an exit tube end and impeller apparatus for radially accelerating the fluid with the conveyor. In certain aspects the open “caged” conveyor structures diffuses fluid flow from the conveyor so that a dispersed unfocused flow of fluid exits the conveyor into the bowl, and, in one particular aspect with feed from within the conveyor to space adjacent a beach area of the bowl.
Abstract:
A method of mobile media presentation includes receiving content wirelessly with a portable electronic device and selectively interfacing the portable electronic device with at least one host device via a docking station. Playback of the content can then switch between the portable electronic device and the host device.
Abstract:
A pump assembly includes a base plate upon which a drive motor is mounted and pump plate upon which first and second pumps are mounted. The pump plate is adjustably mounted on the base plate so as to be moveable between first and second positions relative to the base plate. In the first position, the first pump is operatively engaged with the motor and the second pump is disengaged from the motor. In the second position, the second pump is operatively engaged with the motor and the first pump is disengaged from the motor. An operator can quickly and easily change from one pump to the other simply by loosening thumbnuts, repositioning the pump plate on the base plate, and tightening the nuts.
Abstract:
A system, method and computer readable medium are described that allow a traveler to receive content similar to what that subscriber receives at home. In one case, the subscriber receives local content but at a tier of service that is similar to the tier of service the subscriber enjoys at home. In another case, the head-end in the home region forwards some or all content to the head-end in the remote region for distribution to the subscriber. In yet another case, the subscriber's set-top box located in his home is used to transmit all the content to a set-top box in the remote region. Finally, the subscriber's set-top box located in his home is used to transmit the content, one content service at a time to a set-top box in the remote region.
Abstract:
Centrifuges and conveyor apparatuses for centrifuges, the conveyor apparatus, in one aspect, having a plurality of spaced-apart flight members spaced apart along the length of the conveyor apparatus, a plurality of support members extending between, and connected to the spaced-apart flight members, the support members spaced-apart around the plurality of spaced-apart flight members, a nose member with a target end within the plurality of support members, and a feed tube for feeding fluid having a fluid exit end within the conveyor, fluid exiting the fluid exit end flowable to the target end of the nose member; a centrifuge with such a conveyor apparatus; in one aspect the conveyor apparatus also having at least one wear protector on at least one flight member of the spaced-apart flight members and/or the conveyor apparatus having fluid accelerating apparatus and at least one wear protector positioned adjacent the accelerating apparatus to protect a flight or a support member.
Abstract:
A template for measuring and scribing tread and riser lines for the construction of a stairway, or similar purposes, which comprises: a plate member defining first and second straight edges which, in turn, define a square corner. First and second movable stop means are respectively carried by the first and second straight edges. The second edge is defined by a separate portion of the plate member carried by it and movable along a path of travel parallel to the second edge. Fulcrum arm means are pivotally attached to both the separate portion and the rest of the plate member, so that pivoting of the fulcrum arm means moves the separate portion and second stop means to predetermined positions along the path of travel. Accordingly, the distances between the respective stop means along the straight edges from the square corner may be adjusted, and the resulting adjusted template may be used to scribe tread and riser lines of predetermined lengths in a manner which is substantially more convenient than prior art techniques.
