Abstract:
Novel methods and means for convergent nanofabrication and nanoassembly are disclosed, and systems produced by and performing same are targeted at a broad range of applications. Molecules and/or nanostructures are bound to supported binding means and manipulated to translate such precursors or intermediates to bond together in precisely desired locations and orientations to yield desired precise structures. Methods and means suitable for precise fabrication of a range of materials including diamond, Beta-Silicon-Carbide and related materials, and precise modifications thereof such as color centers in predetermined configuration for quantum computation and information processing and storage applications, and for precise fabrication of halite structured materials including MgO, MgS, TiC, VN, ScN, precisely Mn doped ScN, NbN, HfC, TaC, HfxTayC, AbOS, SrO, BaO, Zr02, ZrC, ZrN, HfN, and also metals including refractory metals such as W are disclosed, yielding an extremely broad range of materials and materials properties which may be availed or utilized.
Abstract:
An electrode layer has a plurality of substantially parallel electrodes disposed along a first direction. At least one electrode has a length along the first direction and a width from a first edge to a second edge along a second direction transverse to the first direction. At least one electrode comprises across its width at least one edge section, at least one intermediate section, and at least one central section, wherein an intermediate section is disposed along the electrode width between an edge section and the central section. At least one electrode edge section and intermediate section includes a plurality of electrically isolated regions arranged in a pattern along the electrode length. An electrode conductive area of the edge section is less than an electrode conductive area of the intermediate section.

Abstract:
Filter assemblies are disclosed. In particular, filter assemblies including a filter media and an overlay portion covering the filter media are disclosed. Such filter assemblies may provide both acceptable filtering capacity and cleanable visible front surfaces.
Abstract:
Filter media are described. In particular, a filter media includes an intake side, an exhaust side, and a plurality of fibers distributed throughout the filter media. The fibers have a plurality of deniers, and fibers disposed proximate the intake side have a first denier and fibers disposed proximate the exhaust side have a second denier. The first denier is larger than the second denier.
Abstract:
Filter assemblies are described. In particular, filter assemblies that include a filter frame, a fire resistant filter media, and a metallic layer disposed on and covering a major surface of the filter frame are described. The filter frame is rigid and includes at least one of a polymeric material, wood, or a wood pulp material. Filter assemblies described include flammable or meltable materials yet may retain structural integrity after being exposed to flame.
Abstract:
In one example, a scouring article comprises: a backing layer having opposed first and second major surfaces; and a visually discernable functional material provided on at least one of the first and second major surfaces; wherein the functional material comprises a resin, and further wherein the functional material is configured to communicate information to a user of the scouring article regarding an intended end-use application of the scouring article. In another example, an abrasive article comprises: a pad having a scrubbing surface; and a plurality of shaped abrasive structures disposed on the scrubbing surface; wherein the plurality of shaped abrasive structures are arranged to provide an indication regarding a characteristic of the abrasive structures.
