Abstract: Netting (1101) comprising an array of polymeric strands (1102,1104), wherein the polymeric strands are periodically joined together at bond regions throughout the array, and wherein at least a plurality (i.e., at least two) of the polymeric strands have a core (1114) of a first polymeric material and a sheath (1103) of a second, different polymeric material. Abstract: (Co)polymer matrix composites including a porous (co)polymeric network; a nonvolatile diluent, and a multiplicity of thermally-conductive particles distributed within the (co)polymeric network; wherein the thermally-conductive particles are present in a range from 15 to 99 weight percent, based on the total weight of the (co)polymer matrix (including the thermally-conductive particles and the nonvolatile diluent). Optionally, the (co)polymer matrix composite volumetrically expands by at least 10% of its initial volume when exposed to a temperature of at least 135° C. Methods of making and using the (co)polymer matrix composites are also disclosed. The (co)polymer matrix composites are useful, for example, as heat dissipating or heat absorbing articles, as fillers, thermal interface materials, and thermal management materials, for example, in electronic devices, more particularly mobile handheld electronic devices, power supplies, and batteries.

Abstract: A method of transferring a shaped particle to a substrate includes providing a scrim of at least two elongate strands periodically joined together at flexible bond regions to form an array of apertures between the strands. The scrim is extended along at least one direction to increase the minimum dimension of the apertures. Shaped particles are applied to the extended scrim and at least a portion of the shaped particles enter in at least some of the apertures therein. The extended scrim is relaxed and frictionally retains the particles between the elongate strands. The particle loaded scrim is extended along at least one direction to release and transfer the shaped particles to the substrate in a predetermined orientation.

Abstract: An incrementally activated laminate that includes an incrementally activated fibrous web and a film having alternating first and second regions and a laminate of the film and an extensible fibrous web. The first region of the film includes a first polymeric composition, and the second regions include an elastic polymeric composition that is more elastic than the first polymeric composition. In the incrementally activated laminate, the distance between midpoints of two first regions separated by one second region is smaller than the activation pitch, and the first regions are not plastically deformed. In the extensible laminate, a tensile elongation at maximum load of the film is up to 250 percent of the tensile elongation at maximum load of the extensible fibrous web. Methods of making the laminates are also described.

Abstract: A film having first and second segments alternating across the film's width direction. The second segments are more elastic than the first segments, and a force required to stretch the second segments is less than a force required to stretch the first segments. At least some of the first segments have apertures through their thicknesses, and a percentage of area of the first segments occupied by the apertures is greater than a percentage of area occupied by any apertures that may extend through the second segments. Laminates and absorbent articles including such films are also disclosed. A method of making the film is also described.
