Propylene polymer compositions comprising: A) from 70 wt % to 95 wt %, of a random copolymer of propylene with ethylene, containing from 3.5 wt % to 8.5 wt %, of ethylene derived units, having a content of fraction soluble in xylene at 25° C. comprised between 7.1 wt % and 15.2 wt % and having a melting point higher than 142.0° C.; B) from 5 wt % to 35 wt %, of a copolymer of propylene with ethylene, containing from 8.5 wt % to 17.0 wt % of ethylene derived units; the sum A+B being 100; the melt flow rate, MFR (ISO 1133 (230° C., 2.16 kg).) from 0.6 g/10 min to 20.2 g/10 min.

The present disclosure relates to a polypropylene composition for the production of molded articles, such as finished parts for the automotive industry, has melt flow rate (230° C., 2.16 kg) of at least 25 g/10 min and comprising: (A) 50-95% of a composition having an intrinsic viscosity of the fraction soluble in xylene at 25° C. of 3.0-5.0 dl/g; and (A1) 70-95% of a propylene homopolymer having a polydispersity index (PI) of 4.3-10, a fraction insoluble in xylene at 25° C. higher than 90% and an MFR (230° C., 2.16 kg) of 100-250 g/10 min; (A2) 5-30% of a copolymer of propylene with 36-44% of ethylene-derived units; (B) optionally up to 45% of a heterophasic propylene polymer, having an MFR (230° C., 2.16 kg) of 10-25 g/10 min, a flexural modulus higher than 1400 MPa, comprising 5-20% of a copolymer rubber component and 80-95% of a matrix propylene polymer component; (C) 2-10% of an ethylene based elastoplastic copolymer; and (D) optionally up to 20% of talc.

A masterbatch composition comprising: 70-90% wt of a component (A) being a propylene homopolymer or copolymer of propylene with ethylene or C4-C10 alpha olefins, having a MFRA according to ISO 1133 (230° C./2.16 Kg) ranging from 15 to 70 g/10 min; and 10-30% wt of a component B) being a propylene-ethylene copolymer comprising 25-45% wt of ethylene derived units and having a value of the intrinsic viscosity [η] of the fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature ranging from 5 to 9 dl/g, said masterbatch composition having a total MFR higher than 4 g/10 min, and a value of the flexural modulus measured according to ISO method 178 ranging from 950 to 2000 MPa.
