    Abstract: A collapsible frame structure is provided for umbrella with self-opening mechanism. The collapsible frame structure is more durable than the prior art by using enforced light-weighted materials such as FRP to form the umbrella frame and steel bars to form the linkage beams. Each of the second pivotal-coupling device of the supporting rib is integrally formed with each of the inner linking member of the supporting rib so as to form a compound pivotal-coupling device. Therefore, the collapsible frame structure is easy in assembly process and the yield ratio is also increased.

    Abstract: A windproof umbrella comprises a canopy including an upper canopy, a lower canopy not equal to upper canopy in size, and a vent hole provided in the center portion of the lower canopy; and a multiple frame including a shank, stationary hubs fixed on the shank, rings slidable along the shank, ribs for supporting canopy, and spreaders. Air beneath the lower canopy exits through a gap formed between upper and lower canopies when frame is stretched. Also, rings moves synchronously along the shank such that the stretching and folding of upper and lower canopies can be smooth and synchronous.

    Abstract: A windproof umbrella includes a shank (10); a runner (12) on the shank (10); ribs (20); a canopy (101); stretchers (30); U-shaped first joints (51) each secured onto the rib (20); U-shaped second joints (61) each slidably put on the rib (20); U-shaped third joints (71) each secured onto the stretcher (30); auxiliary rods (40); and sets of first, second, and third pivotal members (52, 62, and 72). The first pivotal member (52) is formed at the other end of the stretcher (30) and is pivotably connected to the first joint (51). The second pivotal member (62) is formed at one end of the auxiliary rod (40) and is pivotably connected to the second joint (61). The third pivotal member (72) is formed at the other end of the auxiliary rod (40) and is pivotably connected to the third joint (71). In response to strong wind, the second joint (61) slides to change an angle between the rib (20) and the stretcher at the first joint (51). Therefore, the wind escape capability of windproof umbrella (1) of the invention is greatly increased.

    Abstract: Provided is an opening device mounted on a shank of automatic umbrella including a sliding sleeve having a lower extension and a slot on the extension. The device comprises an upper trigger mechanism lockingly engaged with the extension in a closed condition of the umbrella such that pressing the trigger mechanism will disengage the trigger mechanism from the extension prior to automatically opening the umbrella, and a lower, spring biased rib tip retaining mechanism put on the shank and disposed above the handle, the rib tip retaining mechanism adapted to contain tips of ribs therein in the closed condition of the umbrella. Thus, the tips of ribs are not tangled with foreign objects or other umbrellas when the umbrella is stored in, for example, an umbrella stand.
