Abstract: Systems and methods for providing enhanced Quality of Service (QoS) network transmissions can be based on an application sub-class or a user class. Systems and methods can include inspecting the information packet having a network level QoS field having a first network level QoS portion and a second network level QoS portion, determining an application sub-class or user class associated with the information packet, tagging the first network level QoS portion of the information packet according to a first network level QoS value, tagging the second network level QoS portion of the information packet according to a traffic priority indication and to a determined application sub-class or user class, and queuing the information packet for transmission from a network element based on the tagged first network level QoS portion and the second network level QoS portion.

Abstract: Examples of triggered single user (SU) transmissions are described. In an example, an access point (AP) may send a SU trigger frame to a client device for initiating a data transmission by the client device. The AP may detect whether the data transmission is initiated within the Short Interframe Spacing (SIFS) after the SU trigger frame is sent. Responsive to detecting that the data transmission is not initiated within the SIFS, the AP waits for the client device to initiate the data transmission within a predefined time interval after the SIFS. Responsive to detecting that the data transmission is not initiated within the predefined time interval, the AP repurposes the channel access after the predefined time interval is elapsed. Responsive to detecting that the data transmission is initiated within the predefined time interval, the AP repurposes channel access after one of an expiration of a maximum transmission opportunity (TXOP) duration and a completion of the data transmission, whichever is earlier.

Abstract: Systems and methods for partitioning radio spectrum in an AP to support a mixed client environment while maintaining efficient 802.11ax transmissions is provided. Clients in a zone may be categorized into 802.11ax and legacy clients, and those clients may further be categorized into a majority population and a minority population. Assignment of the minority and majority populations can be effectuated by considering the number of available channels to be assigned to each population of client devices, as well as steering load/cost and a client device's ability to be steered to another channel. Moreover, assignment of the minority and majority populations can take into account maintaining a particular client-channel density.

Abstract: Systems and methods for uplink Resource Unit scheduling include receiving, by a network device and from each of a plurality of stations, a status of a buffer, determining for each of the plurality of stations, by the network device, whether the status of the buffer of a particular station exceeds a first threshold, a second threshold, or neither the first threshold or the second threshold, in response to the buffer of the particular station exceeding the first threshold, scheduling the particular station using Uplink Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output, in response to the buffer of the particular station exceeding the second threshold, scheduling the particular station using a scheduled RU, and in response to the buffer exceeding neither the first threshold or second threshold, scheduling the particular station using a random-access resource unit (RA-RU).
