Abstract:
This invention relates generally to the targeting and biopsy of tissue for medical purposes, and more particularly to a targeted biopsy system which allows planning of tissue to be sampled, targeting of specific areas of tissue in reference to the plan, capturing the tissue sample and recording the source location of the tissue sample, particularly for use in collecting tissue samples from the prostate gland. A further purpose of this invention is to provide a targeted treatment system which allows planning of tissue to be treated, targeting of specific areas of tissue in reference to the plan, and delivering the treatment to the targeted tissue.
Abstract:
An oil separator device for removing a substantial portion of the oil contained in the crankcase fumes of an internal combustion engine. The device is designed to be mounted on the inside of a rocker arm cover of the engine as a part of the crankcase ventilation system. Internal baffles direct a laminar flow of crankcase fumes through the separator canister along a folded path from an inlet in the bottom of the canister to an outlet in the top. Partially isolated channels extend along opposite edges of the flow path. Oil in the fumes attaches itself to the internal surfaces of the separator and flows down these surfaces, which are inclined, to a sump in the bottom. A tubular assembly connected to the bottom of the separator provides combined fume inlet and oil return passageways. The distal end of this tubular assembly has a special configuration which tends to prevent the upward flow of fumes through the oil return passageway, enhance the downward return flow of separated oil therein and prevent the reintroduction of returning oil into the fume stream inlet.
Abstract:
Liquid thixotropic isocyanate-terminated prepolymers are prepared by the reaction of a polyarylene polyalkylene polyisocyanate or diphenylmethane diisocyanate with certain graft polyols. The resulting prepolymers are particularly useful in the preparation of polyurethane coating compositions.
Abstract:
A method and visualization apparatus for spectral analysis of time-and-space varying signals enables high resolution investigation of 3D seismic data for the exploration of oil and gas. The method extrapolates multi-resolution short windows into an average long window then computes its FFT. Extrapolation uses the continuity relationship between data inside and outside of short windows. Applications of the method are illustrated with graphical screen 3D volume displays of amplitude spectra, dip and azimuth, curvature and faults (figure below). Aside from high resolution these displays improve the productivity of a seismic interpreter.

Abstract:
Apparatus and method for providing ultrasound image and visualization aid that provides control and positioning of the ultrasonic technology and its scanning to furnish a more particular three dimensional graphical image and display during usage. The system provides for the display of an approximation of an organ or tissue mass being scanned, and the position of the image plane of the ultrasound relative to the determined approximation, to allow the ultrasound user to more quickly and accurately determine the location of the ultrasound scan plane in relation to the tissue mass.
Abstract:
An ultrasound cavital probe suitable for transrectal or other usage, includes an ultrasound probe, having an outer housing, a pair of motors within one end of the housing, a first shaft operatively associated with one of the motors to provide longitudinal movement to the ultrasound transducer, while a second shaft operatively associated with the second motor, and which extends through the hollow interior of the first said shaft, provides for pivotal or rotary movement to the ultrasound transducer and probe, to furnish a 2-dimensional view of the surrounding anatomy, and which in combination with the movement from the first shaft, furnishes a 3-dimensional volumetric scan of the surrounding anatomy, along with facilitating the image plane movements normally obtained by a standard probe while used in a stepping device.
Abstract:
A fuel supply manifold in a returnless fuel system for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine has a fuel rail with a first end having a first opening and a second end having a second opening. A one piece end plug, which fits into the first opening to provide closure thereof, has a fuel hose connector with a fuel inlet therethrough to pass fuel to the fuel rail and a fuel temperature sensor in close proximity to the fuel inlet. The one piece end plug also has an electrical connector casing for receiving an electrical connector to conduct the fuel temperature signal to a remote location for processing. A flange on the end plug attaches to the fuel rail with a pair of bolts, and a core with O-rings thereon extends from the flange for locating and sealing the end plug to the fuel rail. The second end is capped so that fuel may not flow therethrough.
