A development device is attachable to and detachable from an apparatus main body in an inserting/drawing direction. The development device includes a holder portion, a hook, a lever portion, and an elastic arm portion. The holder portion supports a board connectable to a controller of the apparatus main body. The hook is engageable with a recess of the apparatus main body. The lever portion is provided with the hook. At least one elastic arm portion connects the holder portion and the lever portion. In a middle of an attachment to the apparatus main body, the hook interferes with the apparatus main body to shift the lever portion in a direction crossing the inserting/drawing direction and to elastically deform the elastic arm portion. When the hook is engaged with the recess, the elastic deformation of the elastic arm portion is released and the board is connected to the controller.

A sheet feeding device includes a sheet feeding roller, a following roller, a rotational speed detection part, and a control part. The rotational speed detection part is configured to detect a rotational speed of the following roller. The control part is configured to accelerate a rotation of the sheet feeding roller and to adjust a sheet interval. The control part obtains a rotational rate of the following roller to the sheet feeding roller based on the rotational speed of the following roller, obtains an actual linear velocity of the sheet based on the rotational rate of the following roller and a theoretical linear velocity of the sheet after accelerating the rotation of the sheet feeding roller, and then adjusts the sheet interval based on the actual linear velocity of the sheet.

A second edge portion around the opened lower face has a protrusion, a second contact face and a second opposite face. The protrusion is fitted into the recess. The second contact face comes into contact with the first contact face. The second opposite face opposes the first opposite face. The first and second contact faces are higher than the first and second opposite faces. The recess and the protrusion are adhered with an adhesive.

The developer carrier carries a developer developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier, the developer carrier rotating around an axis. The housing stores the developer carrier and the developer, and has an opening through which the developer carrier is exposed. The layer thickness regulating member is disposed so as to form a gap between the layer thickness regulating member and the developer carrier and regulates a layer thickness of the developer carried on the developer carrier. The attachment member is made of a material has the same thermal expansion property as the layer thickness regulating member. The layer thickness regulating member is fixed to the attachment member using only an adhesive.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a sheet storage cassette, a sheet feed unit, a first detection sensor having a first detector for detecting the presence/absence of sheets stacked on a sheet stacking plate, a second detection sensor having a second detector for detecting the position of the top face of the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking plate, a cassette detection sensor, a driving device, and a controller. The sheet feed unit includes a first actuator for switching detection states of the first detection sensor and a second actuator for switching detection states of the second detection sensor. The controller determines the mounting state of the sheet feed unit based on the detection state of the first and second detection sensors.

A sheet feeding device includes a sheet feeding cartridge, a pair of fixed rails, a pair of movable rails and a pressing part. The sheet feeding cartridge has a pair of side plates extending in taking-out/taking-in directions and is taken out/in an installed part in an apparatus main body. The fixed rails are extended in the taking-out/taking-in directions in the installed part. The movable rails are provided to move in the taking-out/taking-in directions along the fixed rails. If the pressing part is provided in one side plate, the pressing part applies biasing force to one movable rail facing to one side plate so that another side plate comes into pressure contact with another movable rail.
