Abstract: The inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a first conveyor belt, and an ink receiving part. The ink receiving part includes a discharge port, a liquid-absorptive rotator, and a counter member. The discharge port is placed at an end portion in a crossing direction crossing a recording-medium conveyance direction, and discharges ink received in flashing. The liquid-absorptive rotator is formed from a liquid-absorptive material and rotated around a rotating shaft extending in the crossing direction. The counter member, being in contact with the liquid-absorptive rotator, has a conveyance structure for conveying ink in the ink receiving part in a carry-out direction directed toward the discharge port along an axial direction of the rotating shaft.

Abstract: The inkjet recording apparatus includes a conveyance belt, a conveyance plate, a suction unit, an inkjet head, and a cleaning unit. The conveyance belt has a plurality of through holes. The suction unit causes the conveyance belt to suck the sheet. The conveyance plate includes a plurality of through holes formed in bottom portions of the plurality of recessed portions. The inkjet head includes a head main body and a head end portion adjacent to the head main body, and faces an upper surface of the conveyance plate via the conveyance belt. The cleaning unit removes ink adhering to a lower surface of the head main body. A ratio of the recessed portions per unit area in a facing region of the conveyance plate facing the head end portion is smaller than a ratio of the recessed portions per unit area in a region other than the facing region.

Abstract: A controller checks ink quantity to be ejected to a specific area on a first side (specific area ink quantity) and determines an ink quantity ratio. The specific area is a strip-shaped area including a side edge on upstream side in a conveying direction of a paper sheet on the first side. When the ink quantity ratio is larger than a reference ink quantity ratio, the controller performs a black conversion process on pixels in a conversion target range. The conversion target range is a range corresponding to the specific area in the image data of the first side. The black conversion process is a process of converting a pixel to which three color inks, i.e. cyan, magenta, and yellow inks are to be ejected into a pixel to which only black ink is to be ejected.

Of the different inks, an ink to be ejected third and an ink to be subsequently ejected each have a pigment content ratio equal to or higher than that of the pigment contained in a corresponding one of inks to be precedently ejected. Of the different inks, an ink to be ejected second and an ink to be subsequently ejected each have a lower viscosity at 25° C. than a corresponding one of inks to be precedently ejected.

The heater heats an n-th region of the sheet using an n-th heat source (n is an integer of at least 1 and no greater than M). The storage stores therein temperature information indicating a first heating temperature for the n-th region. The second calculation section calculates a second heating temperature for the n-th region based on the temperature information and the ink ejection amount to the n-th region calculated by the first calculation section.

Abstract: An inkjet recording apparatus includes a sheet conveyance portion, a pair of registration rollers, a recording portion, a plate portion, a suction roller, and an exhaust portion. The exhaust portion is disposed over an area from upstream of the recording portion to upstream of the pair of registration rollers with respect to the sheet conveyance direction and sucks air from above the conveyance belt and the plate portion in the direction away from the conveyance belt. The exhaust portion includes an exhaust hood and an exhaust fan. The exhaust fan guides the air in the exhaust hood through an air inlet into a recording portion housing and then passes the air through an exhaust outlet to discharge it via an air flow passage.
