Abstract:
A system for using body motion capture for musical performances. A motion detection camera captures a series of body movements which are assigned to begin one of more songs, to activate musical filters, and to active sound effects. Once the movements are captured and assignment, the user begins the performance.
Abstract:
A curry brush for grooming an animal includes a flexible, elastomeric body portion that has a socket defined therein for receiving a relatively rigid container. A plurality of flexible tines extend outwardly from the body portion. The container may be removed from the socket when desired for purposes such as refilling and/or cleaning and is preferably used to store a liquid such as shampoo. The container provides added longitudinal stiffness to the curry brush but permits a limited flexure to occur that is advantageous to a user both in gripping the curry brush and in controlling the curry brush during grooming.
Abstract:
A styptic powder applicator and file for use with pets. The applicator is designed to be integrated with the container and have a funnel-like shape in order to handle a styptic powder in an easier fashion. The container further has a file attached to a side of the container for the removal of burrs left after clipping a pet's nails. This invention provides a more efficient structure for grooming a pet by incorporating a file for removing burrs with the styptic applicator for staunching the flow of blood from a “quicked” nail.
Abstract:
A liner assembly (222A) for a sand trap (10) having a perimeter (12) that defines a cavity (13) and a substrate (18) within the cavity (13) includes a first layer (230A) and a second layer (232A). The first layer (230A) is positioned on the substrate (18) and can be formed from a substantially water-permeable material. The second layer (232A) can be formed from a substantially water-impermeable material and is applied to the first layer (230A). The second layer (232A) can be applied to the first layer (230A) as a liquid, such as a polyurea material. In one embodiment, at least one of the layers (230A, 232A) extends within the substrate (18) at least partially outside the perimeter (12) of the sand trap (10). The second layer (232A) can include an aggregate material that is integrally formed as part of the second layer (232A).
Abstract:
An exterior luminaire comprising an array of light emitting diodes (2) within an outer body (12). Also within the outer body (12) is housed apparatus (7) for collecting and converting radiation into electrical energy so as to provide at least a part of the power required by the light emitting diodes (2), at least one light reflecting member (22) for reflecting light emitted by the light emitting diodes (2) out of the outer body (12), a light diffusing member (16) in the path of the reflected light, and means for maintaining the temperature around the array of light emitting diodes (2) within a predetermined range.
Abstract:
A system balances bandwidth used by a data stream. The system receives data in the data stream and partitions the data into bursts. The system then identifies whether a size of a current one of the bursts is less than a size of a maximum burst associated with the data stream and schedules an additional burst in the data stream when the current burst size is less than the maximum burst size. The system transmits the current burst and the additional burst to balance bandwidth used by the data stream.
Abstract:
A backup and recovery maintenance process useful, for example, in enterprise network systems having diverse application and data storage formats is disclosed. The process implements batch backup and recovery routines, in which critical backup files are generated and stored in accordance with standardized naming conventions. The process continuously monitors scheduled backup routines that each may be automatically performed at various intervals across the network, including traditional end-of-day backups, and further conducts integrity checks and housekeeping of stored backup files and transaction logs.

Abstract:
An article for grooming an animal includes a housing that has an outer gripping surface and a longitudinally extending grooming tool that is at least partially mounted within the housing for longitudinal sliding movement with respect to the housing. The longitudinally extending grooming tool, which in the preferred embodiment is a comb, may thus be adjusted to a desired position with respect to be gripping surface to make grooming the animal as convenient as possible. In a first position, the article is configured as a standard comb wherein the gripping surface is substantially centered with respect to the tines of the comb. In a second position, the tines of the comb are extended remotely away from the gripping surface, giving a user the advantage of leverage when using the comb.
Abstract:
A system for a carrying device to carry and transport bags including a carrier assembly and a closure assembly. The carrier assembly includes a carrier body that is U-shaped and grasped within the palm of a user. The carrier body includes a foam outer portion to provide comfort to the user during usage. The carrier body also includes a rigid inner portion which is where bag handles are secured thereto. The bags remain secured within a cavity defined by the inner portion. To ensure that the bags remain secured within the carrier body a closure of the closure assembly is secured to the carrier body. The closure selectively opens to allow access to the cavity to secure or remove bags from carrier body.
