Abstract: A seat assembly is provided with a seat cushion and a seat back. A controller is in electrical communication with an actuator. The controller is programmed to receive a data input indicative of occupant anthropometry data. The data input is compared with predetermined data ranges. A setting of the actuator is adjusted to a predetermined setting based on the predetermined data range. A data input indicative of a selected driving mode is received by the controller. The setting of the actuator is adjusted to another predetermined setting based on the selected driving mode. The actuator includes an inflation device, side bolster air bladders, a seat back recline actuator, a tilt actuator, and a central air bladder. The driving modes include a touring mode, a sport mode and a performance mode.

Abstract: A seat assembly is provided with sensors. A controller measures pressure in a plurality of regions with a seated occupant over a period of time. A change in pressure is determined from an initial seating position to a second seating position and evaluated to determine a vector of pressure change. A fidget is identified if the vector exceeds a predetermined value. A camera is directed at the seat bottom and the seat back. The controller evaluates a camera input to determine anatomical dimensions of the seated occupant.

Abstract: A method and system involve a controller receiving from a phone an orientation signal indicative of an orientation of the phone and adjusting an object according to the orientation of the phone. The controller may select one of the parts of the object according to an initial orientation of the phone and adjust the selected part of the object in correspondence with the orientation of the phone as the orientation of the phone changes. The selected part may be selected in response to the phone being in the proximity of the selected part. The controller may receive from the phone a control signal indicative of a user input to the phone and adjust the object according to the user input. The object may be a vehicle seat having a first part in the form of a seat bottom and a second part in the form of a seat back.

Abstract: A vehicle seat control system comprises a plurality of seats, a plurality of wireless receivers arranged about the seats, a controller for each of the seats, and a data network between the wireless receivers and controllers. Each of the seats has a seat customization function controlled by its controller. The wireless receivers receive a wireless signal from a portable electronic device. At least one of the controllers measures signal strengths and times of flight for the wireless signal using the wireless receivers, analyzes the signal strengths and times of flight to detect a location of the electronic device, and determines if the location is in any of the seating zones. When the location is in one of the seating zones, the seat customization function for the seating zone with the location is controlled according to the electronic device.
