A device may store a subset of a plurality of head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) for emulating stereo sound from a source in three-dimensional (3D) space, each of the HRTFs corresponding to a direction from which the stereo sound is perceived to arrive, by a user hearing the stereo sound. The device may also obtain a first direction from which first stereo sound is perceived to arrive, by the user and determine whether the subset of the plurality of HRTFs includes a first HRTF corresponding to the first direction, wherein the plurality of HRTFs include the first HRTF. Further, the device may select two HRTFs in the subset of the HRTFs, wherein directions that are associated with the two HRTFs are closer to the first direction than directions of other HRTFs in the subset of the HRTFs;

A system and method are provided for selecting a remote controlled device to be controlled from among a plurality of remote controllable devices. The system includes an electronic device having a registration interface configured to register device data corresponding to the plurality of remote controllable devices, a position locator configured to determine position data corresponding to a position of the electronic device, and an orientation interface configured to receive orientation data corresponding to an orientation of a user. A controller is configured to select the remote controlled device based on the device data, the position data, and the orientation data. The plurality of remote controllable devices each may include a respective data source configured to provide the device data, and a headset may be configured to generate the orientation data.
Abstract:
A microphone array includes a left microphone, a right microphone and a processor to receive a right microphone signal from the right microphone and a left microphone signal from the left microphone. The processor determines a timing difference between the left microphone signal and the right microphone signal. The processor determines whether the timing difference is within a time threshold. The processor time shifts one of the left microphone signal and the right microphone signal based on the timing difference. The processor also sums the shifted microphone signal and the other microphone signal to form an output signal.

A system for collecting earpiece data from a mobile terminal comprising an earpiece includes an earpiece data module in the mobile terminal configured to obtain earpiece data based on usage of the earpiece. A mobile terminal memory is in the mobile terminal and is configured to store the earpiece data. A communications module is in the mobile terminal and is configured to connect the mobile terminal to a remote earpiece data collection module that is remote to the mobile terminal. The earpiece data module is further configured to determine if the earpiece data in the mobile terminal memory satisfies a threshold and to transmit the earpiece data to the remote earpiece data collection module by the communications module if the earpiece data satisfies the threshold.
