A display device may include a black member, a first pixel and a second pixel. The black member may have a first boundary and a second boundary in a plan view of the display device. The first boundary may include a first arc and may be surrounded by the second boundary. The first pixel may include a first pixel electrode, may display a first color, may be positioned in a first pixel column of the display device, and may be intersected by the first arc in the plan view of the display device. The second pixel may include a second pixel electrode, may display a second color different from the first color, may immediately neighbor the first pixel, may be positioned in the first pixel column of the display device, and may be spaced from the first boundary in the plan view of the display device.

A display device may include a floating electrode, a common-voltage electrode, a transistor, and a pixel electrode. The floating electrode may be electrically floating. The common-voltage electrode may be electrically connected to a voltage source. The pixel electrode may be electrically connected to the transistor. A first portion of the pixel electrode may overlap neither of the floating electrode and the common-voltage electrode in a direction perpendicular to at least one of the pixel electrode and an image display side of the display device. A second portion of the pixel electrode may overlap the common-voltage electrode. A third portion of the pixel electrode may overlap the floating electrode.

A curved liquid crystal display (LCD) includes a curved liquid crystal panel assembly. The curved liquid crystal panel assembly includes: a lower panel including a first linear polarizer having a first polarization axis; an upper panel including a second linear polarizer having a second polarization axis, the second polarization axis cross the first polarization axis in a plan view; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the lower panel and the upper panel. An angle formed by a first polarization axis and a second polarization axis does not meet at a right angle in a plan view.

A method of manufacturing a curved liquid crystal display is provided. The method includes forming a first display panel including a plurality of first patterns, forming a second display panel including a plurality of second patterns, assembling the first display panel and the second display panel, filling a liquid crystal between the assembled first and second display panels to form a flat liquid crystal display, and curving the flat liquid crystal display in a first direction to form the curved liquid crystal display. The first patterns and the second patterns are mismatched in the flat liquid crystal display, and the first patterns and the second patterns are matched in the curved liquid crystal display.

Embodiments relate to a liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly, to a liquid crystal display including an alignment layer pattern and a manufacturing method thereof. The liquid crystal display includes a lower panel including a first alignment layer and a signal line. An upper panel faces the lower panel and uncovers an end portion of the signal line of the lower panel. A sealant is positioned between the lower panel and the upper panel and couples the lower panel and the upper panel with each other. The first alignment layer includes a coated region positioned between a first removed region overlapping the end portion of the signal line and a second removed region overlapping the sealant. The first alignment layer does not exist in the first removed region and the second removed region.
