An operating method of an electronic device is provided. The method includes determining, by a first processor using at least one sensor, whether a state change occurs, if it is determined that there is the state change, determining, by the first processor, whether to transmit state information to a second processor, and determining, by the second processor, whether to measure a changed position at each of set periods using a position measuring module on the basis of whether the state information is received.

A method employed by an electronic device comprising establishing communication between the electronic device and a sound processing device to activate sound input and output units of the sound processing device and deactivate sound input and output units of the electronic device. At least one item of measurement information of the electronic device is acquired and it is determined whether the measurement information item value satisfies a predetermined condition. In response to the measurement information satisfying the predetermined condition, the sound input and output units of the sound processing device are deactivated and the sound input and output units of the electronic device are activated.

A mode change apparatus and method using face recognition in an electronic device are provided. The method of changing a notifying mode includes, determining whether a face is recognized from surroundings of the electronic device when a call is received; and generating a call reception event in a first notification mode when the face is recognized from the peripheral images.
