    Abstract: A computer-implemented method for integrated circuit routing is described. The computer-implemented method comprising receiving a description of interconnected terminals of an integrated circuit with a wiring route electrically coupling the interconnected terminals and configuring a simulated environment defined via a plurality of voxels based on the description. The individual voxels included in the plurality of voxels each correspond to a spatial representation for a corresponding region of a layout associated with the integrated circuit. The computer-implemented method further includes determining local contributions of the individual voxels to a characteristic metric of the integrated circuit based on an electromagnetic simulation of the integrated circuit and revising the wiring route based on the local contributions of the individual voxels.

    Abstract: Example methods and systems for adjusting the beam width of radio frequency (RF) signals for purposes of balloon-to-ground communication are described. One example method includes determining, based on respective locations of a plurality of balloons and areas covered by respective ground-facing communication beams of the balloons, a contiguous ground coverage area served by the plurality of balloons, where the communication beam of a balloon defines a corresponding individual coverage area within the ground coverage area, determining a change in position of at least one of the balloons, based on the change in position of the at least one balloon, determining an adjustment to a first of the individual coverage areas in an effort to maintain the contiguous ground coverage area after the change in position of at least one of the balloons, and adjusting a width of the ground-facing communication beam of the balloon corresponding to the first individual coverage area in order to make the determined adjustment to the first individual coverage area.

    Abstract: The present technology provides power generation using thermoradiative cell (TRC) structures, which generate electricity by radiating heat from a hotter area/body to a cooler area/body. The TRC structures may be used in conjunction with photovoltaic (PV) cells on a common platform as a power generation system. In some scenarios, the platform may be a high altitude platform (HAP). Here, the TRC structures may be arranged or aligned to radiate heat towards space or otherwise in a direction generally away from the Earth's surface. The electricity generated by the TRC structures is provided to a power supply, for instance to recharge batteries of the power supply. The TRC structures may be intersubband TRC structures. In some configurations, the TRC structures are co-located on the same side of a panel as the PV cells. In other configurations, the TRC structures are remote from the PV cells.

A computer-implemented method includes receiving a layout describing the integrated circuit to be manufactured by a semiconductor manufacturing process. The method also includes generating a differentiable manufacturability parameter as an output of a machine learning model using the layout, the machine learning model being trained to generate the differentiable manufacturability parameter. The differentiable manufacturability parameter describes the manufacturability of the integrated circuit by the semiconductor manufacturing process.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for image segmentation and chemical analysis using machine learning. In some implementations, a system obtains a hyperspectral image that includes a representation of an object. The system segments the hyperspectral image to identify regions of a particular type on the object. The system generates a set of feature values derived from image data for different wavelength bands that is located in the hyperspectral image in the identified regions of the particular type. The system generates a prediction of a level of one or more chemicals in the object based on an output produced by a machine learning model in response to the set of feature values being provided as input to the machine learning model. The system provides data indicating the prediction of the level of the one or more chemicals in the object.

    Abstract: An in-ear device includes a housing shaped to hold the in-ear device in an ear of a user, and an audio package, disposed in the housing, to emit augmented sound. A first set of one or more microphones is positioned to receive external sound, and a controller is coupled to the audio package and the first set of one or more microphones. The controller includes a low-latency audio processing path, digital control parameters, and logic that when executed by the controller causes the in-ear device to perform operations. The operations may include receiving the external sound with the first set of one or more microphones to generate a low-latency sound signal; augmenting the low-latency sound signal by passing the low-latency sound signal through the low-latency audio processing path to produce an augmented sound signal; and outputting, with the audio package, the augmented sound based on the augmented sound signal.

    Abstract: An in-ear device includes a housing shaped to hold the in-ear device in an ear, and an audio package, disposed in the housing, to emit sound. A tympanic membrane measurement unit (TMMU) is structured to measure a movement of a tympanic membrane in the ear caused by external sound received by the tympanic membrane, and a controller is coupled to the audio package and the TMMU. The controller includes logic that when executed by the controller causes the in-ear device to perform operations. The operations include measuring a movement of the tympanic membrane, and in response to measuring the movement of the tympanic membrane, outputting sound from the audio package to destructively interfere with the external sound received by the tympanic membrane.
