Abstract:
A vehicle frame includes a space frame assembly which is mounted to a pair of longitudinal mainframes. The space frame assembly includes a multiple of interconnected supports, which are configured to support a plurality of vehicle components.
Abstract:
A grease fitting adapter for lubricating a Hendrickson suspension of a vehicle. The adapter includes a bracket and a hose connected to the bracket. The hose has a first end with a fitting thereon to cooperate with a fitting in the Hendrickson suspension. The hose has a second end with a fitting thereon to receive the lubricant from a source of lubricant. The adapter is mounted on the Hendrickson suspension by a fastener connected to the bracket and is mounted such that the lubricant is introduced from the outer side of the vehicle. A retrofit kit and a method of lubricating the Hendrickson suspension is disclosed.
Abstract:
A MacPherson strut front suspension is provided with an upper spring seat assembly which retains the upper end of a front coil spring and is rotatable together with the coil spring and a strut outer tube relative to a vehicle body. The upper spring seat assembly comprises concentric inner and outer tubular members, a spring seat rubber interconnecting the inner and outer tubular members, and a shallow dish-shaped abutment member which is attached to the inner tubular member to be rotatable together therewith and abuttingly engageable to limit upward movement of the outer tubular member relative to the inner tubular member.
Abstract:
An air supply assembly for a vehicle trailer having a moveable tandem axle assembly includes at least a pair of telescoping tubes that allow air supply to the moveable tandem axle assembly. The telescoping tubes allow air to be supplied to the moveable tandem axle assembly when the moveable tandem axle assembly is in its extended or front trailer position or in its retracted position, wherein the moveable tandem axle assembly is closer to the rear of the trailer. The necessary supporting mechanism(s) are provided to hold the telescoping tubes in place to provide a connection between an air supply line and an input for air supply at the moveable tandem axle assembly and allow for the telescoping movement to account for the movement of the moveable tandem axle assembly while maintain the integrity of the air supply to the moveable tandem axle assembly.
Abstract:
An air suspension system for a vehicle including an air compressor, a bladder, and an air line. The bladder defines a reservoir configured to store air compressed by the air compressor. The bladder is configured to be seated within a structural member of a frame of the vehicle. The bladder includes a flexible layer covered by an abrasion resistant layer configured to protect the flexible layer from contact with the structural member of the vehicle. An air line fitting is connected to the bladder and in fluid communication with the reservoir. The air line fitting is configured to cooperate with an air line configured to carry air to and from the reservoir.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns an axle unit comprising a stub axle and an axle tube, wherein the stub axle has a longitudinal channel which extends inside the stub axle substantially along a stub axis, wherein the stub axle has a transverse channel which extends inside the stub axle substantially transversely to the stub axis and opens to the environment at the outer face of the stub axle, wherein the longitudinal channel and the transverse channel are connected together, wherein the stub axle has a stub joining region to which the hollow-bodied axle tube can be secured.
Abstract:
A vehicle axle, in particular a torsion beam axle for an electric vehicle, with at least one trailing arm on which is arranged a drive unit located close to a wheel, and the drive unit comprises an electric machine and a transmission unit. The drive unit, close to the wheel, has at least one supply line and at least one damper such that the drive unit, close to the wheel, is formed at least partially as a trailing arm and the damper is connected, on at least one side, to the drive unit at least in a single-shear manner and can be connected, on at least the other side, to a body of the electric vehicle. The at least one vehicle axle is utilized on a motor vehicle.
Abstract:
A method for dispensing a liquid includes providing a container having a top, a bottom, a first opening at the top and a second opening proximal the bottom; providing a liquid dispensing bag including a flexible pouch having a top, a bottom, and first and second panels, the first and second panels defining an interior and a first opening to the interior at the bag top, wherein at least one of the first and second panels defines a second opening to the interior near the bag bottom, and wherein the bag further includes liquid dispensing apparatus including a tube connected to the pouch to permit a controlled flow of liquid from the second opening of the pouch, and wherein the first and second panels are connected together at the pouch top to releasably close the first pouch opening. The first pouch opening is opening by separating the first and second panels from each other at the top of the pouch, and the bag is positioned in the container with the tube extending out through the second opening of the container. Liquid is inserted into the bag interior, and liquid dispensing apparatus is actuated to selectively release the liquid out through the tube.
Abstract:
A vehicle frame assembly includes first and second generally parallel chassis rails. At least one of the first and second chassis rails has a first portion defining an internal cavity and at least a second portion defining an enclosed passageway extending along the first portion and within the internal cavity. The at least one of the first and second chassis rails is configured to be coupled to a first component and to provide a routing within the passageway between the first component and a second component.
Abstract:
Gas spring includes a cover which works together with a rolling bellows and a bottom part to form a gas-filled spring space, where at least part of the outside surface of the rolling bellows is covered by a sleeve. The sleeve provides a receptacle for at least one sensor which detects the stroke position of the gas spring.
