Abstract:
A self-wrapping, textile sleeve for routing and protecting elongate members from exposure to abrasion, thermal and other environmental conditions and method on construction thereof. The sleeve has an elongate wall constructed from interlaced yarns having interstices between adjacent yarns. At least one of the yarns is heat formed at one temperature to form the wall as a self-wrapping wall curling about a longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The wall has an inner surface providing a generally tubular cavity in which the elongate members are received. The wall also has an outer surface with a cured layer thereon. The cured layer is cured at the one temperature at which the yarns are heat formed into their self-wrapping configuration, wherein the cured layer fills the interstices between adjunct yarns to form an impervious layer on the wall.

Abstract:
A textile protective sheath for a lifting accessory such as a roundsling, lifting strap or the like, having a woven base fabric and at least one rib which is carried by the woven base fabric, which rib projects outwards from the woven base fabric and is formed by a rib fiber which is interwoven with the woven base fabric, wherein the rib fiber is a high-performance fiber and, looking in the direction in which the rib fiber runs, the rib fiber skips at least three weft filaments at a time of the woven base fabric before it is drawn down below a weft filament of the woven base fabric.
Abstract:
A draw bar sling for lifting heavy loads such as railroad cars includes a lightweight rigid U-shaped saddle made, for example, of an aluminum alloy, having a central shelf for engaging the coupler tongue of the car and a concave passageway extending under the central section. A loop sling comprising a core bundle of high performance fibers, encased in a tubular abrasion resistant covering, extends in through the passageway to form two closed curve eye sections above the saddle through which a crane hook can be inserted to lift the coupler tongue. A cut proof sleeve surrounds each eye section to prevent the hook from cutting the high performance fibers. The cut proof sleeve comprises multiple layers of high performance fibers, and particularly Spectra, woven at right angles and sewn between sheets of abrasion resistant material.
Abstract:
A woven rope an inner portion comprising a plurality of multifilament fibers in the length direction of the woven rope and a jacket portion covering the inner portion. The jacket portion contains a plurality of monofilament fibers in the length direction of the woven rope and at least one multifilament fiber in the circumferential direction interwoven with the monofilament fibers in the length direction of the jacket portion. The monofilament fibers of the jacket portion form the majority of the outer surface of the woven rope.
Abstract:
There is provided a high-tensile synthetic fiber rope having a low percentage elongation, the rope dramatically improving the strength utilization rate of the tensile strength of the synthetic fibers, and ensuring the percentage elongation approximately the same as the percentage elongation of the synthetic fibers used in the rope. The synthetic fiber rope includes a plurality of strands twisted or braided together, each of the strands including: a tubular woven fabric woven with warp and weft yarns made of synthetic fibers; and a core material disposed in the tubular woven fabric, the core material being constituted by a plurality of parallel-bundled yarns made of the synthetic fibers in the tubular woven fabric.
Abstract:
A composite cable or rope is described. The cable or rope has an inner metallic rope or core, consisting of a plurality of metal strands and a plurality of covering layers formed around the inner metallic core. An innovative anchoring and safety system is also described. The system has one or more anchorages, fixed to the roof, in each of which the rope is stably locked by screwing, so as not to create instability problems for people attached to the rope.

Abstract:
An eye-and-eye sling in which the protective cover for an endless loop load bearing sling core is not provided with extraneous layers along the body of the sling that extends between the sling eyes. In the inventive sling, first and second loop segments of the load bearing core which are generally diametrically disposed are respectively encased within first and second seamless tubular eye covers. These loop segments and eye covers form the eye portions of the eye-and-eye sling. The spanning portions of the endless loop that are not covered by the eye covers are encased within a common seamless tubular body cover. The body cover and spanning loop segments generally form the body portion of the sling that extends between the sling eyes. The present invention also provides a bridle having an integral master ring and protective covers for the bridal legs in which excessive layers of cover material are avoided.
Abstract:
An endless textile sling for lifting. The sling includes a textile protective cover having a first textile tube, and a second textile tube within the first textile tube to form a double tube structure. The first tube and the second tube are connected together along two respective oppositely positioned longitudinal edges to form an inner sheath and an outer sheath. The sling further includes a load-carrying core within the second textile tube. The core includes a plurality of endless fiber strands. The sling is provided with a plurality of binding elements positioned between the two longitudinal edges and connecting the inner and outer sheaths together. The inner and outer sheaths are separated by a space. The binding elements partition the space into mutually separated chambers. The binding elements include one of a binding warp, a tie-in and an interlaced connection.
