Abstract:
In a male and female coupling means of a floor panel the male coupling means is formed of at least one proximal groove and of a flexible distal tongue. The female coupling means is formed of at least one proximal groove and of a flexible distal tongue. The flexible distal tongue of the male coupling means has a proximal wall inclined at an angle β with respect to a vertical plane towards the bottom of the panel and towards the outside of the panel, while the flexible distal tongue of the female coupling means has a proximal wall inclined at an angle α with respect to a vertical plane towards the top of the panel and towards the outside of the panel. The flexible distal tongue of at least one of the male or female coupling means has a distal wall comprising, at least, a protrusion or a notch that is able to engage with a notch or a protrusion formed in or on a proximal wall of at least one proximal groove of corresponding female or male coupling means of an adjacent panel so as to form an end stop, avoiding vertical movement of the panel with respect to the adjacent panel. The proximal wall of the proximal groove of the male coupling means comprises an upper part, and a lower part, the upper part and the lower part extend parallel on either side of the notch or of the protrusion.
Abstract:
A floor panel includes male and female coupling means that are formed by at least one proximal groove that opens onto a lower face or upper face, respectively, of the panel and by a distal flexible tongue that extends from the end of the edge of the panel towards the lower face or upper face, respectively. The tongue has a proximal wall inclined at an angle with respect to a vertical plane towards the bottom and the outside of the panel and towards the top and the outside of the panel, respectively. The tongue of at least one of the male coupling means or female coupling means has a distal wall that includes, at least, a protrusion or a notch that is able to engage with a notch or a protrusion formed in or on a proximal wall of the proximal groove of the corresponding female coupling means or male coupling means so as to form an end stop, avoiding vertical movement of a panel with respect to an adjacent panel. The flexible tongue of the female coupling means comprises a chamfered part that forms an angle of between 2° and 20° with respect to the main plane of the panel.
Abstract:
Floor panels are shown, which are provided with a mechanical locking system that may be locked with a vertical displacement of a first panel against a second panel. The locking system includes a flexible strip that during locking bends upwardly or downwardly. The locking system includes a first and a second joint edge section with different locking functions. One section provides a horizontal locking and another section provides a vertical locking.
Abstract:
The system for removably securing slats juxtaposed to form a deck, for example for a terrace, includes fasteners disposed in rows on level floor or joist or beam structure supports oriented perpendicular to the axis of the slats. The fasteners have a device for securing the supports to the slats. A plurality of impermeable channels is disposed parallel for a level floor, or at a rate of one impermeable channel for each joist or beam support. The top surface of the support, a device for removable securing and a device for positioning provided on the profiled section are covered. The fasteners are made of a flexible elastic material, and the device for positioning allows clearance in a direction of an axis of the channel.
Abstract:
A method for producing a mechanical locking system for a first panel and a second panel. The method includes providing a tongue, including a first locking surface, at a first edge of the first panel, forming a tongue groove, including a second locking surface, at a second edge of the second panel, the first locking surface and second locking surface are configured to cooperate for locking the first edge to the second edge in a first direction, providing a first guiding surface at the first edge and a second guiding surface at the second edge, wherein the first guiding surface cooperates with the second guiding surface during an assembling of the first edge and the second edge, and working of the first guiding surface and/or the second guiding surface to reduce the coefficient of friction between the first guiding surface and the second guiding surface and/or a surface roughness.
Abstract:
A locking system for mechanical joining of floorboards constructed from a body, a rear balancing layer and an upper surface layer. A strip, which is integrally formed with the body of the floorboard and which projects from a joint plane and under an adjoining board has a locking element which engages a locking groove in the rear side of the adjoining board. The joint edge provided with the strip is modified with respect to the balancing layer, for example by means of machining of the balancing layer under the strip, in order to prevent deflection of the strip caused by changes in relative humidity. Also, a floorboard provided with such a locking system, as well as a method for making floorboards with such a locking system.
Abstract:
A connector system for mechanically connecting two structural elements to each other, consisting of a connector element and mating grooves in each structural element. The connector element is comprised of a base plate having a split-tongue element at each side or end of said base plate. Each joined element has a mating groove formed into its connector-receiving surface. The mating groove is designed to allow fabrication via four sequential circular saw cuts, without loss of saleable decorative surface, and at a rate consistent with economical commercial production of vinyl, laminate, or hardwood flooring. The connector element is readily extruded in a variety of polymers, including PVC. The connector and mating grooves interact so as to generate a force component acting to forcibly draw the connector into the mating grooves. The connector system operation is relatively insensitive to geometric deviations associated with normal manufacturing methods.
