Abstract:
An arrangement in a screen for substantially continuous adjustability and parking of the screen in a desired position, including an upper hinge and a lower hinge. The lower hinge includes a conical element for achieving a braking effect against pivoting of the parts in relation to one another.
Abstract:
A system and method for minimizing door related injuries are disclosed. Briefly, a mechanism requiring little or no external power is used to vary the force needed to open a door. If an obstruction (i.e. a person, pet, etc) is within the sweep of the opening door, the force needed by the user to push open the door will be increased, to give the user tactile feedback that an accident may be imminent. The feedback mechanism can be implemented in a variety of ways, including embodiments that require no external power or battery. A sensor is used to detect the presence of an obstruction within the sweep of the door. In a further embodiment, a mechanism is used to slow or stop a door from closing if an obstruction (such as a finger) is in the return path of the door.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly connects a cover to a base and further has a pressing member. The pressing member has a stationary pressing spacer and a rotating pressing spacer. Each of the pressing spacers has at least one inclined protrusion formed on an abutting surface. The inclined protrusions of the pressing spacers correspond to each other. When the cover is opening until an upper edge of one inclined protrusion corresponds to a lower edge of another inclined protrusion, people may open the cover lightly and fast. Alternative, when the cover is closing until the upper edges of the inclined protrusions and the lower edges of the inclined protrusions respectively correspond to each other, people may close the cover heavily and slowly to prevent the base from being stricken by the cover.
Abstract:
To provide a vehicle door opening/closing device arranged to pivotally connect a vehicle body and a door with a hinge member and provided with a damper arranged to impart a braking force to the door when the door is turned, the damper being directly connected to the hinge member, the hinge member includes a first hinge arm fixed to a floor, a pin shaft fixed to the first hinge arm and extending outward of the first hinge arm, and a second hinge arm pivotally mounted on the pin shaft and fixed to a lower end of a lower door, and the damper includes a rotors connected to a projecting portion of the pin shaft, a housing rotatably mounted on the rotor and fixed to the lower door, and a braking means contained in the housing to impart a braking force to the housing when the housing is rotated relative to the rotor.
Abstract:
A door closing device including closing means for urging a door between said first open position and second closed position having a cable mounted in a housing said cable wound about periphery of a reel regulating the speed of movement of said door between the open position and closed position; a reservoir for containing viscous fluid; and a buffer for retarding the speed of movement of said door comprising an impeller immersed in the viscous fluid for use as a brake; whereby the impeller reduces rotational speed of said reel, thus reducing closing speed of said door.
Abstract:
A device for closing swinging doors of the type utilizing a rotating member to compress a spring during door opening to store energy in the spring to effect a closing of the door is provided with a driving connection to a d.c motor/generator effective to cause rotation of the motor during a closing movement of the door. The motor/generator acts as a generator during the closing with the generated electrical energy fed back to the motor/generator to retard rotation of the rotor, providing a brake on the closing movement of the door. The feedback circuitry includes a switch disabling or diminishing the braking during the final degrees of closing movement as well as a variable setting device allowing control of braking force.
Abstract:
A pivot shaft constructed with a holder having a base and a vertical mount for a sleeve with a pair of diametrically opposed notches to lock into, above the base is a spring, a washer, and a nut. The spring has one end inserted into a hole of the base and another blockaded by a outer edge of a washer. A shaft consisting of a head, a cylinder, and a threaded portion locks into the sleeve, the vertical mount, the spring, and the washer by engaging with the nut.
Abstract:
An operator for moving a door between an open position and a closed position. The operator includes linkage for being attached to the door; a motor assembly having a drive shaft; and a drive train for coupling the drive shaft of the motor assembly to the linkage structure, the drive train includes a clutch for selectively disconnecting the linkage from the drive shaft of the motor assembly and a variable torque control assembly for varying the torque produced by the clutch.
Abstract:
An adjustable snap-acting hinge is provided. The hinge includes a first articulated quadrilateral and a second articulated quadrilateral, which can move on a working plane and share a first lever and a second lever and are provided respectively with a plate for coupling to a first element and with a plate for fixing to a second element. A contrast element is associated with the coupling plate and can be arranged in at least one position for use, which lies between a first position in which the contrast element is arranged at a maximum distance from the point of the first lever, and a second position in which the contrast element is arranged at a minimum distance from the point of the first lever. The hinge also includes locking means for keeping the contrast element in the position for use.
Abstract:
A door operator includes an installation box, an operating mechanism, a pneumatic apparatus and a moveable sleeve. The installation box has a housing and a lid. The housing has an assembling space and an opening communicating with the assembling space; the lid is mounted in the opening and covers the assembling space. The operating mechanism is rotatably mounted in the installation box and has a gear. The pneumatic apparatus is installed in the assembling space and has a cylinder and a piston rod. The moveable sleeve is movably mounted on the cylinder and connected with the piston rod and engaged with the gear of the operating mechanism. Because a rotation axis of the gear and a central axis of the moveable sleeve are perpendicular to each other, the volume of the installation box can be reduced.
