Abstract:
An electrical accessory for use with a portable electronic device and with a protective cover for the portable electronic device is provided. The electrical accessory includes a body, an electrical connector, and electrical circuitry. The body includes a back portion and a bottom portion. The back portion is slidably attachable to the back of the protective cover to removably affix the electrical accessory to the back of the protective cover. The bottom portion is adapted to be proximate the bottom of the protective cover when the electrical accessory is removably affixed to the protective cover. The electrical connector is affixed to the bottom portion of the body of the electrical accessory. The electrical connector is positioned to electrically interconnect to an electrical port of the portable electronic device when the electrical accessory is affixed to the protective cover and when the portable electronic device is installed in the protective cover.
Abstract:
In one embodiment of the present invention, a processor includes a scalar computation unit; a vector co-processor coupled to the scalar computation unit; and one or more function-specific engines coupled to the scalar computation unit, where the engines are adapted to minimize data exchange penalties by processing small in-out bit slices.
Abstract:
A voice message system for a pay phone telephone network interposes an Intercept Processing Subsystem (IPS) in the line connections between the pay telephones and the central office. A Voice Processing Subsystem (VPS) is connected to the central office switch by a trunk. A caller at a pay station enters a called telephone number which is stored in the IPS. The Intercept Processing Subsystem monitors the line connection to determine if the called telephone remains on-hook for a predetermined number of ring tones or is busy for a predetermined number of busy tones. If the ring no answer or busy condition maintains, the IPS reduces the volume of the ring or busy tones on the line connection and superimposes a voice announcement thereon offering the voice message service to the caller. If the caller enters an acceptance key sequence or coin deposit, the IPS splits the line connection, sends a Thank You message to the calling telephone and speed dials the VPS. When the VPS answers, the IPS sends a voice prompt to the calling telephone explaining that at the tone a voice message may be entered and delivery thereof will be attempted at predetermined intervals for a predetermined time. Simultaneously, with sending the voice prompt to the caller, the IPS transmits the call parameters to the VPS utilizing a protocol with interleaved validity acknowledgement signals from the VPS. If the transmission of the call parameters is valid, the IPS reestablishes the line connection between the calling telephone and the central office switch and the voice message from the caller is passed through the IPS to the VPS for recording thereat for subsequent delivery to the called station.
Abstract:
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing including a first face and a second face, a second housing including a third face and a fourth face, a folding part rotatably connecting the first housing and the second housing, a flexible display disposed on the first face and the third face, a camera exposed through at least a portion of the fourth face, a memory configured to store instructions, and a processor configured to determine an orientation of the electronic device and a direction in which the camera is pointed while a camera application is executed, identify the first area or the second area as an area in which a preview image acquired through the camera is displayed based at least on the determined direction and the determined orientation, and display the preview image, acquired through the camera, in the identified area using the flexible display.

A Voice Processing Subsystem (VPS) is connected to the central office switch by a trunk. A caller at a pay station enters a called telephone number which is stored in the "IPS". The Intercept Processing Subsystem monitors the line connection to determine if the called telephone remains on-hook for a predetermined number of ring tones or is busy for a predetermined number of busy tones. If the ring no answer or busy condition maintains, the "IPS" reduces the volume of the ring or busy tones on the line connection and superimposes a voice announcement thereon offering the voice message service to the caller. If the caller enters an acceptance key sequence or coin deposit, the "IPS" splits the line connection, sends a Thank You message to the calling telephone and speed dials the "VPS". When the "VPS" answers, the "IPS" sends a voice prompt to the calling telephone explaining that at the tone a voice message may be entered and delivery thereof will be attempted at predetermined intervals for a predetermined time. Simultaneously with sending the voice prompt to the caller, the "IPS" transmits the call parameters to the "VPS" utilizing a protocol with interleaved validity acknowledgement signals from the "VPS". If the transmission of the call parameters is valid, the "IPS" reestablishes the line connection beteen the calling telephone and the central office switch and the voice message from the caller is passed through the "IPS" to the "VPS" for recording thereat for subsequent delivery to the called station.
Abstract:
A telephone answering machine adapted for use in conjunction with a telephone system having a station-to-station call transfer capability for incoming calls includes a tape deck and various components for recording and playing back announcements and messages under microprocessor control. The answering machine also includes a DTMF receiver and DTMF generator for receiving and sending digit tone signals. The microprocessor directs the operation of the answering machine for recording data from a calling party, which data represent a telephone number to which the calling party wishes to be transferred. Thereafter, the microprocessor directs the operation of the answering machine for dialing this telephone number after a hook flash has been used to request a call transfer sequence by the telephone system. The telephone answering machine thereby enables call transfers to take place upon the initiative of calling parties.
