Abstract: A device for delimbing trees includes two pairs of opposing curved limb-stripping levers including curved cutting blades for engaging and encircling the trunk of a tree to remove limbs therefrom, and a bottom cutting blade positioned to remove limbs from a lower portion of the tree. The bottom cutting blade is movably mounted so as to move in response to forces imposed on the bottom cutting blade by a tree being pulled through the device. In one embodiment, the bottom cutting blade is vertically movable and is biased upward by a spring device. In another embodiment, the bottom cutting blade is pivotally mounted so as to be pivotable forward and rearward, and an impact tool is arranged to periodically transmit impact forces to the bottom cutting blade in a forward direction so as to drive the blade through a limb.

Abstract: The invention concerns a barking tool for barking machines of the type having a plurality of swinging arms, each being at an inner end pivotally mounted on an annular rotator which is rotatable about an axis of rotation, and each having at a free outer end a processing edge. The processing edge is defined between a front and a top surface, which is adapted, during barking, to make an acute angle with the circumferential surface of the log. Abstract: A delimber suitable for mounting on a logging skidder. The delimber comprises a series of delimbing/clamping elements and hydraulic actuators for moving the delimbing/clamping elements between an open and a closed position. Each of the delimbing elements comprises a clamping surface and a cutting edge. In the closed position, the delimbing elements hold a bunch of trees and the cutting edges penetrate the trees. Moving the delimber along the trees causes the cutting edges to cut the limbs off the trunks. In another aspect, the delimber includes a tilt feature for topping the trees.

Abstract: A log peeler comprises a log peeling knife assembly 10 attached to a pulling cable 12, the pulling cable 12 being reeved around a powered cable drum 14. Abstract: The invention relates to a self-propelling branch remover with the aid of which relatively large branches on trees, but even whole trees, can be gripped and capped. For this purpose, either so-called felling saws have previously been used, which were attached to the front end of a hydraulic crane and gripped the trunk with claws and sawed it off using a pivotable capping saw.
