    Abstract: A vehicle air handling system includes an air duct housing, a particulate sensor, a first air blower and an electronic controller. The air duct housing has an air inlet and a passenger compartment vent. The particulate sensor is configured to detect a particulate level of particulates in the air duct housing. The first air blower is disposed in the air duct housing to move air within the air duct housing. The electronic controller is operatively coupled to the particulate sensor and the first air blower. The electronic controller is configured to operate the first air blower to reverse an air direction of the first air blower away from the passenger compartment vent upon detection of the particulate level of the particulates in the air duct housing being equal to or greater than a predetermined particulate threshold level in the air duct housing.

    Abstract: A vehicle display configuration system and method employs a display, an eye tracker and a controller. The eye tracker is configured to track eye movement of a user viewing the display. The controller is configured to control the display to sequentially display sets of a plurality of images for comparison and selection by the user, to receive selection information representing a respective selected image from each of the sets being displayed on the display as selected by the user, to analyze eye tracker eye movement information received from the eye tracker representing eye movement of the user while the user is viewing each of the sets being displayed on the display, and to designate a vehicle display image based on the selection information and a result of the analysis of the eye movement information.

    Abstract: A re-configurable center console assembly includes a center console assembly and a phone holder tray. The center console assembly has a main body that includes a first side wall and a second side wall defining a concaved storage area therebetween. The first side wall and the second side wall further define a plurality of retaining positions therebetween. The phone holder tray has a first side portion, a phone supporting portion and a second side portion. The first side portion is configured to manually attach, detach and re-attach to the first side wall. The second side portion is also configured to attach, detach and re-attach to the second side wall such that the phone holder tray is installed to a first of the plurality of retaining positions and is detachable and re-attachable to a second of the plurality of retaining positions.

    Abstract: A latch assembly includes a housing, a door latch member and a release member. The door latch member pivots about a first pivot axis. The release member pivots about a second pivot axis spaced apart from the first pivot axis located within the housing operatively coupled to the latch retaining member. An inertia activated lock-out mechanism is fixedly attached to the housing and includes a locking member within the housing that pivots about a third pivot axis spaced apart from the first and second pivot axes. The first, second and third pivot axes are all parallel to one another at fixed locations within the housing. The locking member pivots between a locking position preventing movement of the release member and a non-interfering position in which the locking member is spaced apart from the release member allowing the release member to be movable.
