Abstract: A vehicle body barrier has a vertical support, a first non-movable board and a second non-movable board. The vertical support is configured to be received in a vehicle body. The first non-movable board is fixedly attached to the vertical support. The second non-movable board is fixedly attached to the vertical support and is vertically spaced from the first non-movable board. The movable board is movably connected to the first non-movable board between a primarily offset position and a primarily overlapping position. The movable board is disposed between the first and second non-movable boards in the primarily offset position.

Abstract: Multi-acid polymers are produced having the formula R—SO2—NH—R′—(SO3H)n and made from a polymer precursor in sulfonyl fluoride form or sulfonyl chloride form The R is one or more units of the polymer precursor without sulfonyl fluoride or sulfonyl chloride, R′ is the portion of the amino sulfonic acid without the SO3H and NH, n is one or more, and the multi-acid polymer has two or more proton conducting groups. A method of making the multi-acid polymers includes reacting an amino acid having multiple sulfonic acids with a polymer precursor in sulfonyl fluoride form or sulfonyl chloride form in a mild base condition to produce the multi-acid polymer having two or more proton conducting groups.

Abstract: A vehicle body structure includes a front side member, a body attachment structure and an off-center impact structure. The body attachment structure is attached to an outboard wall of the front side member along a front-section forward of an outboard opening and extends in an outboard direction from the front side member. The off-center impact structure has an elongated member with a straight portion that extends through the outboard opening and into a hollow interior of the front side member. The elongated member is fixedly coupled to the outboard wall of the front side member adjacent to, spaced apart from and rearward of the body attachment structure. In response to an impact event of an off-center impact test the body attachment structure deforms and moves into contact with the elongated member transferring impact force to the elongated member.

Abstract: Electrodes having three dimensional current collectors provide stability to the electrode structure, improved contact between active material and the current collector, and improved charge transfer. An electrode includes a three dimensional current collector including a substantially planar base and spring-like structures extending from the substantially planar base in spaced relation along the substantially planar base. Each spring-like structure has an attachment end attached to the substantially planar base and a free distal end. Active material is layered on the three dimensional current collector, the active material filled between the spring-like structures. The active material comprises alloying particles having a high specific capacity, wherein the spring-like structures deflect as the alloying particles expand in volume due to lithiation and return to an initial position as the alloying particles contract due to delithiation.
