Abstract: An elevator system includes at least one lithium-ion battery, a temperature sensor (56, 57) operatively coupled to the at least one lithium-ion battery (44), and a lithium-ion battery charging system (50) including a controller (30) having a central processing unit (CPU) (36) interconnected functionally via a system bus to the at least one lithium-ion battery (44) and the temperature sensor (56, 57). The controller (30) further includes at least one memory (38) device thereupon stored a set of instructions which, when executed by the CPU, causes the lithium-ion battery charging system (50) to determine an expected run mode for the elevator system, sense a temperature of the lithium-ion battery (44) through the temperature sensor (56, 57) establishing a sensed temperature, and establish a state of charge (SOC) for the lithium-ion battery based on the sensed temperature and expected run mode of the elevator system.

Abstract: An elevator car (1) comprises a working platform (4) moveable between a stowed position, at an upper part (3) of the elevator car (1), and an operational position, suspended from the upper part (3) of the elevator car (1) to be inside the elevator car (1). At least one stop (6a, 6b) is located at the upper part (3) of the elevator car (1). The at least one stop (6a, 6b) is moveable between a retracted position and a deployed position. In the deployed position, the at least one stop (6a, 6b) extends away from the upper part (3) of the elevator car (1) to provide an upper safety space (53) above the elevator car (1).

Abstract: An elevator system includes a first elevator car (28) constructed and arranged to move in a first lane (30, 32, 34) and a first propulsion system (40) constructed and arranged to propel the first elevator. An electronic processor of the elevator system is configured to selectively control power delivered to the first propulsion system (40). The electronic processor includes a software-based power estimator configured to receive a first weight signal and a nm trajectory signal for calculating a power estimate and comparing the power estimate to a maximum power allowance. The electronic processor is configured to output an automated command signal if the power estimate exceeds the maximum power allowance.

Abstract: A guide device and an elevator system are provided by the present application. The guide device is configured to guide a compensation chain of an elevator system and includes: a fixed mechanism, which is configured to install to an elevator hoistway, for example a stationary object such as a hoistway wall, a rail or a pit ground, and provide support for the guide device; and a guide mechanism connected to the fixed mechanism; wherein in a state where the guide mechanism is subjected to an external force exceeding a preset value, the guide mechanism is capable of reciprocating in a vertical direction relative to the fixed mechanism.

Abstract: An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable along the hoistway, and one or more belts operably connected to the elevator car to propel the elevator car along the hoistway. A belt of the one or more belts includes one or more tension elements extending along a belt length, and a jacket at least partially encapsulating the one or more tension elements. The jacket includes a jacket base formed from a first material and one or more insert layers embedded in the jacket base material. The one or more insert layers have a corrugated shape along the belt length, and are formed from a second material different from the first material.

Abstract: A method of monitoring motion of a conveyance apparatus within a conveyance system is provided. The method including: detecting a first atmospheric air pressure proximate the conveyance apparatus at a first time and a second atmospheric air pressure proximate the conveyance apparatus at a second time using the pressure sensor located on the conveyance apparatus; determining a change in atmospheric air pressure proximate the conveyance apparatus in response to the first and second atmospheric air pressure; detecting a height change of a conveyance apparatus in response to at least the change in atmospheric air pressure; and confirming or disconfirming the height change using at least one of a rate of change in atmospheric air pressure prior to the first time, an acceleration of the conveyance apparatus, a rate of change in static atmospheric air pressure, a rate of change in temperature, and a rate of change in relative humidity detection.

Abstract: An elevator door drive comprising: an elevator door motor; and an elevator door controller comprising at least one button; wherein the elevator door controller is arranged to generate a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) drive signal for driving the elevator door motor; wherein the elevator door controller is arranged to provide an acoustic frequency PWM signal to the elevator door motor responsive to a press of the at least one button. When the elevator door motor is provided with a PWM signal in the acoustic range, the current passing through the motor windings generates forces that result from that current and the magnetic fields in the motor. These forces excite vibrations in the motor components that generate audible noise (which may be referred to as audible magnetic noise or electromagnetic acoustic noise).
