Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a panel movement system. The panel movement system includes top and bottom rails, top and bottom rail attachments, and a gear movement system. The top and bottom rails include threaded screw members along their lengths and first cog members rotatively coupled to the threaded screw members. The top and bottom rail attachments are movably attached to respective ones of the rails for lateral movement along lengths of the rails. Each rail attachment includes a rotatable second cog member engaged with the first cog member on respective ones of the rails. The gear movement synchronization system connects the rotatable second cog member of the top rail attachment to the rotatable second cog member of the bottom rail attachment such that the top and bottom rail attachments move along the rails in unison. The top and bottom rail attachments are adapted to have a panel connected therebetween.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for opening and closing a window by slidably moving a movable window sash or door (hereinafter collectively called a ‘movable window sash’) with respect to a fixed window sash or door (hereinafter collectively called a ‘fixed window sash’). The apparatus is designed such that the movable window sash cannot only slide along a rail mounted within a blank frame but also be separated from a roller to move back and forth from any position on a rail toward the blank frame or the fixed window sash in a perpendicular direction with respect to a length direction of the rail, thus allowing the entire seal member interposed between either the blank frame or the fixed window sash and the movable window sash to be uniformly pressed in the perpendicular direction. Thus, excellent soundproofing, air tightness (windproofing), water tightness, insulation performance, and wind pressure resistance can be provided. Furthermore, the sliding window system has a simplified opening/closing structure and a minimum number of components, and low manufacturing cost.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly for use with a door, in particular, an aircraft door, that enables the door to remain substantially parallel to the fuselage of the aircraft when the door is open and closed. The hinge assembly includes a door support assembly that couples to the door, and a hinge arm assembly. The hinge arm assembly includes a first gear assembly that couples to the fuselage, a second gear assembly that couples the hinge arm assembly to the door support assembly, and a linkage assembly coupled to the first and second gear assemblies. The first and second gear assemblies and linkage assembly cooperate to move the door support assembly and hinge arm assembly with respect to each other to maintain the door substantially parallel to the aircraft when moving the door toward an open position.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly for vertical-movement doors comprises two articulated-quadrilateral hinges each including a first plate designed to be fastened to the furniture flanks, a second plate designed to be fastened to the door and two superposed arms pivotally mounted between the plates to form the quadrilateral connecting-rods. The assembly comprises brackets for removable fastening of the bar ends to the hinges, where the brackets can be alternatively mounted at two different fastening seats present at locations spaced apart from each other, along the upper arm of each hinge.
Abstract:
In the case of a hinge device with an arm and with two head pieces mounted to pivot/swivel on the ends of the arm around respectively one axis, the head pieces are respectively joined to revolve with one of the two belt pulleys, which are circumscribed by a common traction belt on one circumferential surface, and at least one of the belt pulleys is not circular but preferably elliptical.
Abstract:
A folding leaf gate comprising a post hung section hingedly attachable to a gate post and at least one leaf hung section hingedly connected in series with the post hung section by means of one or more section hinges, wherein the folding leaf gate additionally includes a rotating device associated with the or each leaf hung section and sharing a common axis of rotation with the or each section hinge and secured in a static relationship to a leaf hung section whereby rotation of the or each rotating device causes rotation of a leaf hung section about the or each section hinge, and one or more translating devices engaging the or each rotating devices, the one or more translating device being configured, when in use, to translate rotational motion of the post hung section about a gate post to rotation of the one or more rotating devices whereby simultaneously to open a gateway closed by the folding leaf gate and fold the folding leaf gate in two or more.
Abstract:
A dual pivot door hinge assembly for a side door system of a vehicle includes a body side-mounting bracket adapted to be connected to a vehicle body of the vehicle. The dual pivot door hinge assembly also includes a door side-mounting bracket adapted to be connected to a side door of the side door system of the vehicle. The dual pivot door hinge assembly includes at least one load arm pivotally connected to the body side-mounting bracket to form a first pivot axis and pivotally connected to the door side-mounting bracket to form a second pivot axis. The dual pivot door hinge assembly further includes a connecting member operatively interconnecting the first pivot axis and second pivot axis to allow the side door to remain parallel to a side of the vehicle body as the side door is pivoted radially outward and longitudinally.
Abstract:
A support mechanism supports a hood in a raised position with respect to a vehicle to which the hood is pivotally coupled. The mechanism includes two pairs of arm members which are pivotally coupled to each other by a central pivot pin, and which are coupled between the vehicle and the vehicle hood. A flat coil spring is coiled around the central pivot pin and is attached to the arm members. The spring is biased to pivot one pair of arms and in turn the hood upwardly.
Abstract:
A pocket door system for the suspension of a pocket door within an entertainment cabinet or the like is shown with a rack and pinion guide associated with each pocket door slide and a synchronization shaft for transmittal of the actuation of one pocket door slide to the other, and where the installation of the pocket door slide and rack and pinion guide are integral to each other and also provide an improved alignment method.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a retractable screen system for a closure assembly and improvements thereof which allows the secure sliding and subsequent retraction of the screen from a operative position to a retracted position. The invention is preferably embodied in a window assembly but finds application also in large pivoting windows and patio doors.
