Abstract:
This invention provides compositions and methods for cryoprotection of recombinant live cancer cells. Specifically, an improved cryoprotective medium is provided which includes a hydroxyethyl starch and/or derivative thereof alone or in combination with either DMSO or glycerol.
Abstract:
A heat sink mounting structure including a mounting frame fastened to a CPU holder above a CPU in the CPU holder, and a heat sink fastened to the mounting frame and disposed in contact with the CPU to dissipate heat from it, the CPU holder having two retainer rods adapted for securing the mounting frame in place, wherein the mounting frame comprises an annular bearing portion suspended on the inside and adapted to hold the heat sink, the annular bearing portion having a plurality of retaining notches and a plurality of sliding grooves respectively extending from the retaining notches; the heat sink includes a plurality of projecting locating elements projecting outwards from the periphery, the projecting locating elements being moved along the sliding grooves into engagement with the retaining notches when the heat sink is mounted on the annular bearing portion.
Abstract:
An embodiment is a circuit for use with a display device, the circuit including: a first input node configured to be operatively coupled to a first port of a data source device that provides the display device with data, to receive a first direct voltage used for a real-time display of the data on the display device; and at least one output node, configured to operatively provide the display device with at least one output voltage generated based on the first direct voltage, wherein the first port is isolated from a data port used to transmit the data.
Abstract:
According to various embodiments, a tracheal tube may employ optical sensing techniques for determining a distance between the inserted tube and an anatomical structure, such as a carina. The distance information may provide an indication as to whether or not the tracheal tube is properly placed within the trachea. The optical techniques may include time of flight techniques.
Abstract:
A thermostat (10) includes a housing (11) having a control panel (13) with a plurality of manually selectable input elements or input keys (15) and a display panel (17) for displaying various functions of the programmable thermostat. The programmable thermostat also includes a temperature sensor (18), a microprocessor (19) having memory for storing a schedule program set which includes a number of schedule time periods. Each schedule time period includes a start time, end time and temperature. The manual programming of select schedule time periods may automatically set the start and end times of another schedule time period.

Abstract:
A method and system for generating design constraints for an electronic circuit design is disclosed. The method and system include reading a design description and an existing design constraint file, configuring design constraint integration rules, writing a new design constraint file, evaluating results of the new design constraint file, and replacing existing design constraint file with the new design constraint file.
Abstract:
A thermostat (10) includes a housing (11) having a control panel (13) with a plurality of manually selectable input elements or input keys (15) and a display panel (17) for displaying various functions of the programmable thermostat. The programmable thermostat also includes a temperature sensor (18), a microprocessor (19) having memory for storing a default program set of default temperature and time values and a desired program set of desired temperature and time values. The microprocessor may compare the desired program set to the default program set in order to calculate the efficiency of a HVAC system. The calculated efficiency is then displayed graphically on the display panel.
Abstract:
An inflatable balloon cuff may be adapted to seal a patient's trachea when associated with an endotracheal tube. These cuffs may include features that facilitate detection or visualization of the cuff, for example with ultrasound devices, to ensure proper placement of the cuff and the tube. Such surface features may include particular types of materials or shaped or protruding features that may be detected in the environment of the trachea.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a glass curtain supporting device for clamping and supporting a glass 40 to constitute a glass curtain. The glass curtain supporting device includes a base 10, a pressing ring 20 and a propping rod 30. The base 10 has a conical end portion 11 circularly extended from an end of the base 10 and latched into a conical through hole of the glass 40 for clamping the glass 40 by the conical end portion 11 and the pressing ring 20. The glass 40 is mounted onto a scaffold by the connection of propping rods 30. The invention installs at least one elastic flange 12 disposed around the conical end portion 11 such that when the glass 40 is clamped by the conical end portion 11 and the pressing ring 20, the conical end portion 11 forms a well-sealed structure by the elasticity and deformation of the flange 12 to constitute an airtight and waterproof glass curtain.
