    Abstract: Use of porous metal oxide microspheres as light stabilizers for shaped artificial polymer articles, wherein the porous metal oxide microspheres are prepared via a process comprising forming a liquid dispersion of polymer nanoparticles and a metal oxide; forming liquid droplets of the dispersion; drying the droplets to provide polymer template microspheres comprising polymer nanospheres; and removing the polymer nanospheres from the template microspheres to provide the porous metal oxide microspheres.

    Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for determination of unit operations of a chemical plant for acid gas removal, the method carried out by a computer or a distributed computer system and the method comprising the steps of: providing (S1) a first set of parameters for the unit operations; providing (S2) a second set of parameters for the unit operations based on the provided first set of parameters and based on data retrieved from a database; determining (S3) a digital model of the chemical plant based on the first set of parameters and the second set of parameters, wherein the digital model comprises a system of equations defining the unit operations of the chemical plant; selecting (S4) starting points for an equation-based solution method of the system of equations, wherein the starting points are at least partially selected from the: —i) the first set of parameters; —ii) the second set of parameters; and —iii) the data retrieved from the database; determining (S5) resultant settings for the unit operations of the chemical plant using the equation-based solution method for the system of equations initialized by the selected starting points.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method for monitoring and/or controlling a chemical plant. Specifically, the present invention relates to a computer-implemented method for monitoring and/or controlling a physical-chemical process in a chemical plant comprising: (a) receiving sensor data related to the physical-chemical process, (b) determining at least one physical-chemical parameter by providing the sensor data to a plant model, wherein the plant model comprises a mechanistic model containing at least two equations each representing a part of the physical-chemical process and a data-driven model associated to the mechanistic model, wherein the total number of scalars as output parameters from the data-driven model is lower than the number of equations of the mechanistic model, and (c) outputting the at least one physical-chemical parameter determined by the plant model.
