Abstract:
In one aspect, a self-laminating identification band is provided. The band is formed from the face stock of a form sheet, with a laminating flap that folds over a printed surface. Adhesive is provided along the flap and along at least one end of the band, so as to allow the band to positioned and looped around itself.
Abstract:
Various sheeted articles are described. The articles include one or more banding products such as wristbands or ankle bands. The banding products are securely retained within the sheet articles prior to use by one or more regions of adhesive. Upon removal of the banding products from the sheet, one end of the band (an attachment end) comprises an adhesive to allow attachment to the other end, and the second end including the strap portion is generally free of any adhesive or liner material and the under surface of the second end is substantially formed by the material of the face layer. The articles can also include a collection of removable adhesive backed labels.
Abstract:
The inventive assembly incorporates a lanyard assembly that may, in some embodiments, be attachable to badge connector to present a single, unitary connector with a stylized appearance. The ends of the lanyard ribbons are engaged in a manner that creates free space between the edges of the ribbon immediately upon exiting the connector assembly so as to impart resistance to unwanted twisting of the object held by the lanyard assembly and/or the ribbon forming part of it. The object or badge connector associated with the assembly comprises a clip, j-hook, or key ring assembly for easy attachment of a card or card holder.
Abstract:
A method for displaying indicia that is to be printed on a double-sided item on a computer screen. The double-sided item has first and second surfaces. The indicia has at least one print orientation when the indicia is printed on the item's first and second surfaces, and at least one view orientation when the indicia is displayed on the computer screen, which has a vertical orientation. The method includes providing information that characterizes the indicia's print orientation, using the information to compare the print orientation to the vertical orientation; and if, as a result of the comparison, the print orientation does not match the vertical orientation, adjusting the view orientation so the view orientation matches the vertical orientation while maintaining the indicia's print orientation when the indicia is printed on the item.
Abstract:
A binder mechanism is shown and described herein. The binder mechanism may include a base, first and second ring bases pivotally coupled to the base, first and second ring portions fixed with the ring bases, at least one pin attached with the first and second ring bases, a slide operatively engaged with the base and operatively engaged with the at least one pin, the slide selectively and axially positionable relative to the base, and an actuator operatively engaged with the slide, where the actuator is configured to selectively and axially position the slide whereby the slide positions the at least one pin to pivot the first and second ring bases away from one another to disengage the first and second ring portions.
Abstract:
A printing system and method of printing are provided herein. The printing system may generate custom user designs for printing. The designs may be associated with a selected print medium. The print medium may have a particular layout. The printing system may convert the design for printing on other print media without requiring user alteration or input of the design. In another aspect, the printing system may facilitate printing the designs via local printers and/or via professional printers. Accordingly, printing of designs on different print-receptive media items can be accomplished.

Abstract:
A multilayer laminate such as a label assembly having high opacity and desirable appearance characteristics is described. The laminate includes a facestock layer, an adhesive layer, and a liner layer. The facestock layer includes a print-receiving top coat layer that includes a combination of titanium dioxide and one or more optical brighteners. The combination of these materials avoids build up of static charges upon laser printing on the facestock.
Abstract:
A secure hold hook is shown and described. The secure hold hook may include a body having first and second portions and a pair of opposed surfaces, a hook monolithically formed with the body, the hook extending from a first of the pair of opposed surfaces and a first adhesive adhered with a second of the pair of opposed surfaces. The secure hold hook may also include a second adhesive extending from the first adhesive, and a hinge positioned between the first and second portions, the hinge configured to permit the first and second portions to pivot with respect to one another.
Abstract:
A battery assembly includes a battery, an outer layer, and a power indicator apparatus. The battery includes a first terminal and a second terminal. The power indicator apparatus comprises an electrical conductor and a mechanical switch. The electrical conductor is configured to be in continuous electrical communication with the first terminal. The mechanical switch is configured to be actuated by an application of pressure at a single location, and upon actuation, to place the electrical conductor in electrical communication with the second terminal such that the power indicator apparatus can facilitate a reading of a potential energy stored in the battery. Methods of assembly and methods of determining a potential energy stored in the battery are also provided herein.
