Abstract:
A data center provides secure handling of HTTPS traffic using backend SSL decryption and encryption in combination with a load balancer such as a content switch. The load balancer detects HTTPS traffic and redirects it to an SSL offloading device for decryption and return to the load balancer. The load balancer then uses the clear text traffic for load balancing purposes before it redirects the traffic back to the SSL offloading device for re-encryption. Thereafter, the re-encrypted traffic is sent to the destination servers in the data center. In one embodiment, the combination with the back-end SSL with an intrusion detection system improves security by performing intrusion detection on the decrypted HTTPS traffic.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media are disclosed for determining access rights to a resource managed by an application. One embodiment includes receiving a request by the application, wherein the request comprises an action a user seeks to perform on the resource. Further, the embodiment includes locating, based on the request, the resource in a structure having groupings of resources, wherein the groupings include a grouping having the resource. Typically the groupings comprise files having mappings of resources to assigned groups, and each group has an associated authorization table mapping roles or policies to users. Further still, the embodiment includes reading an authorization table associated with the grouping having the resource, and determining whether to grant the access rights for performing the action on the resource.
Abstract:
An engine valve actuation system includes an engine valve moveable between a first position that blocks a flow of fluid and a second position that allows a flow of fluid. The system also includes a valve actuation assembly connected to move the engine valve between the first position and the second position and a fluid actuator configured to selectively modify a timing of the engine valve in moving from the second position to the first position. The fluid actuator includes a first piston. The system further includes an accumulator including a second piston, wherein the second piston is slidably movable in the first piston.
Abstract:
A golf bag having a club-separating staggered honeycomb-like cell structure and a method for manufacturing is disclosed. The golf bag includes a plurality of individual hollow fabric-lined plastic or soft fabric tubes coupled to a top opening or collar, and confined or anchored by a bottom or base. The full-length tubing separates and protects the shafts of the golf clubs and prevent them from becoming entangled. The collar comprises a plurality of openings arranged in a honeycomb cell configuration. The cell openings are elongated to maximize the separation between club heads and also allow easy access for club retrieval and replacement. The base as configured keeps the lower end of the tubes in line with cell openings at the other end of the golf bag. The method of manufacturing consists of shaping, positioning and attaching a plurality of tubing to the collar and the base to form the honeycomb cell structure.
Abstract:
A shoe has a sole, an upper and a counter portion. The upper is securely connected to the sole and has a rear end defined with an opening. The counter portion is pivotally connected to a rear end of the sole to close the opening in the upper. A fastener is mounted on the upper and the pivotal counter portion to connect the pivotal counter portion to the rear end of the upper. Accordingly, a wearer's foot in the shoe can be vented. Also, for a pair of tied shoes with the pivotal counter portions can be put on or taken off without tying or untying the laces. The use of the shoe becomes more versatile and more convenient.
Abstract:
A memory management unit (MMU) includes a translation lookaside buffer capable of simultaneously servicing three requests supplied to the MMU by an instruction cache and two data caches, respectively. Also, an arbiter selects one of several pending requests from sources of different priorities for immediate processing by the MMU, using a process which avoids undue delay in servicing requests from sources of lower priority.
Abstract:
A method for deriving reservoir lithology and fluid content for a target location from pre-stack seismic reflection data. The method uses inversion of pre-stack seismic reflection data for both the target location and a calibration location having known subsurface lithology and fluid content to derive the subsurface lithology and fluid content at the target location. The inversion process is preferably a viscoelastic inversion to account for the effects of friction on seismic wave propagation. The results of the inversion process are a set of subsurface elastic parameters for both the target and calibration locations. Relative magnitudes of these subsurface elastic parameters are compared, together with the known subsurface lithology and fluid content at the calibration location, to derive the subsurface lithology and fluid content at the target location.
