Abstract:
A system for providing programmable logic data on demand includes a portion for receiving a plurality of data requests at the programmable logic controller and a portion for processing the plurality of data requests asynchronously. An interface enables asynchronous processing to enhance and extend capabilities of the programmable logic controller.
Abstract:
A crusher for containers such as aluminum cans and plastic bottles is disclosed. The container crusher includes a base and a movable plunger that travels on support rods mounted on the base. The base and plunger have recesses that retain the container when it is crushed. Springs bias the plunger into its open position, and may be used to limit the downward movement of the plunger to provide a clearance distance from the base.
Abstract:
A record is managed by obtaining from an external system on which a stored object comprising the record is stored a property of the stored object as stored on the external system. A stored property associated with the record is compared with the obtained property of the stored object. In the event the comparison does not match, responsive action is taken.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an inductive power transfer system including a primary unit and a secondary device separable from the primary unit, the primary unit may include a power transfer surface and more than two field generators each operable to generate an electromagnetic field. The field generators may be located at different positions relative to the power transfer surface. The secondary device may include a power receiver having a secondary coil. In one embodiment, the system may determine at least one of the position and the orientation of the power receiver relative to the power transfer surface, and control the field generators such that at least one first field generator and at least one second field generators, selected in dependence upon such determination, are active in a substantially opposite sense to one another so as to direct magnetic flux through the secondary coil thereby supplying power to the secondary device, and further such that a third one of the field generators is inactive so that fewer than all of the field generators are active simultaneously.
Abstract:
Various examples of a drug delivery device and corresponding method for sequentially delivering at least two medicaments via a single dispense interface are provided. In one example, the device includes a variable dose setting mechanism operably connected to a first cartridge containing a first medicament, a fixed dose setting mechanism operably connected to a second cartridge containing a second medicament, a dose setter for setting a user settable dose of the first medicament and a fixed dose of the second medicament, and a connecting feature for detachably connecting the variable dose setting mechanism to the fixed dose setting mechanism. During setting of the fixed dose of the second medicament, the rotationally driven variable dose setting mechanism and the fixed dose setting mechanism are connected via the connecting feature, however, during setting of the user settable dose of the first medicament, the rotationally driven variable dose setting mechanism and the fixed dose setting mechanism are not connected.
Abstract:
An energy exchange system includes a supply flow path including a central sub-path connected to a bypass sub-path that is, in turn, connected to a delivery sub-path that connects to the enclosed structure. A sensible heat exchanger configured to condition the supply air is disposed within the central sub-path. The bypass sub-path connects to the central sub-path upstream from the sensible heat exchanger within the central sub-path. A first coil configured to further condition the supply air is disposed within the central sub-path downstream from the sensible heat exchanger. A bypass damper is disposed within the bypass sub-path. The bypass damper is configured to be selectively opened and closed. The bypass damper allows at least a portion of the supply air to pass through the bypass sub-path into the delivery sub-path and bypass the sensible heat exchanger and the first coil when the bypass damper is open.
Abstract:
A drug delivery device having a spring element that provides dispense assistance. The drug delivery device includes a variable dose setting mechanism, a fixed dose setting mechanism, and a mechanical coupling having a spring element. The variable dose setting mechanism is operably coupled to a first reservoir holding a first medicament, and the variable dose setting mechanism comprises a dose setter. The fixed dose setting mechanism is operably coupled to a second reservoir holding a second medicament. The mechanical coupling operably couples the variable dose setting mechanism and the fixed dose setting mechanism. Further, the variable dose setting mechanism is configured to set a variable dose of the first medicament upon activation of the dose setter, and the fixed dose setting mechanism is configured to set a fixed dose of the second medicament during variable dose setting. Still further, the spring element is configured to store energy during dose setting and to transfer stored energy to the fixed dose setting mechanism to assist with dispense of the fixed dose.
Abstract:
In this presentation, we study various aspects of the wind turbines or wind mills. We optimize the performances of both a single wind turbine and a wind farm, collectively. We study the nozzles on the blades and all the variations and accessories for the operation of a nozzle. We also explore flow patterns around the blades, the mechanisms to get air or other gasses to the blades, the couplers for the electrical connections and the gas connections, and the gaps, holes, channels, conduits, or openings on the body or structure of a tower. We also present various mathematical models and formulations for optimizations.
Abstract:
A transducer apparatus comprises a package substrate and a transducer disposed over a die substrate. The die substrate is disposed over the package substrate. The transducer apparatus also comprises a voltage source connected between the die substrate and the package substrate, and configured to selectively apply an electrostatic attractive force between the die substrate and the package substrate.
Abstract:
The filter is made of a flat wire with a generally rectangular cross section that has two long sides and two short sides. The flat wire is formed into a generally cylindrical helix defined by successive loops of wire stacked adjacent to one another. For any two successive wire loops, the long sides of the wire loop are set at a predetermined distance from the long side of an adjacent wire loop. Additionally, the short sides of successive wire loops are substantially aligned.
