Abstract:
Methods and systems relating to a communication in an Advanced Intelligent Network from a caller to a subscriber's directory number where the communication has been terminated to a voice mail system (VMS) instead having been terminated to the subscriber's directory number. The methods and systems transfer the communication from the VMS so the VMS is no longer involved in the communication. A message indicating a release of the communication by the VMS is generated. The message also indicates an action to be taken regarding the communication such as a transfer to a different number. The action and related information may be provided in a remote operations parameter of a GR-1129 message. In response, directions are provided to carry-out the action. As a result, the communication is released from the VMS, and is acted upon without further involvement of the VMS.
Abstract:
Methods of providing messages for a user can include accepting entry of a message for the user, and accepting entry of a location criteria associated with the message. Physical location information for a wireless communications device associated with the user can be obtained, and the message for the user can be transmitted when the physical location information for the wireless communications device matches the location criteria associated with the message. Related systems and computer program products are also discussed.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing critical information to a user of a content providing service based on profile data associated with the user are disclosed. Such systems and methods can include storing a user profile that identifies a plurality of communication pathways via which a critical information alert can be provided to a user associated with the user profile. The critical information alert contains critical information provided by the content providing service. The user profile includes a respective set of decision criteria associated with each of the plurality of communication pathways. A satisfied set of decision criteria is identified from among the respective sets of decision criteria. The critical information alert is provided to the user via the communication pathway associated with the satisfied set of decision criteria.
Abstract:
A data network may be operated between a routing gateway for a subscriber and a data service provider providing a data service. More particularly, the data network may receive from the data service provider an identification of the routing gateway, an identification of the data service provider, and data flow characteristics of the data service for a session of the routing gateway using the data service provided by the data service provider. Responsive to receiving the identification of the routing gateway, the identification of the data service provider, and the data flow characteristics for the data service, the data flow characteristics of the data service for the routing gateway may be saved at the data network and forwarded to the routing gateway. Related data networks, data service providers, routing gateways, and computer program products are also discussed.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and computer program products are provided for matching a passenger with a driver for a trip to a destination. Characteristic information about a plurality of drivers is received and a plurality of selection criteria are received from the passenger. A request for the trip is received from the passenger. One of the drivers is automatically identified as a candidate driver for the trip based on the selection criteria and the characteristic information responsive to the received request. Contact information is provided to the passenger and/or the identified candidate driver to match the passenger with the identified candidate driver. One or more of the drivers may be associated with transportation service providing companies and the request for the trip may be a reservation request for a planned trip at a scheduled time in the future and the reservation request may include a date and/or time defining the scheduled time in the future.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are disclosed that allow for the exchange of voice mail messages between different VMSs of different service providers and/or in different networks by the transmission of such messages through a data network using a standard protocol of the data network. Methods and systems also are disclosed that validate message transactions among subscribers receiving regional messaging services over the PSTN. The subscribers are located in different geographic areas and may be provided their voice, facsimile or data messaging services by different companies. The present invention validates passing messages (data) among customers of potentially different companies located in different areas by assessing the validity of the transaction in light of a number of conditions, including applicable regulatory or business conditions.

Abstract:
A target entity is monitored by defining a geographic rule for the target entity. A location signal for the target entity is received that represents a current location of the target entity. A determination is made whether the current location of the target entity satisfies the geographic rule. Notification is provided if the current location of the target entity satisfies the geographic rule.
Abstract:
Systems for automatically selecting a user's profile based on location include a device adapted to being tracked by location and a database that includes a user's preferences for routing calls. The user's calls are routed to the user based on the user's call routing preferences and the location of the device. Other systems and methods are also provided.
Abstract:
Support of a plurality of different applications utilizing a next generation network having a network layer is provided by an application services middle layer between the applications and the network layer that includes a plurality of common infrastructure elements usable by the different applications. The common infrastructure elements provide services associated with use of the network and services that are not associated with use of the network. The common infrastructure elements may provide a common infrastructure element to an end user such that use of the service by the end user is accessible to each of the different applications utilizing the at least one common infrastructure element. A common infrastructure element may be accessible by an end user so as to provide a common infrastructure element to the end user for the different applications. The different applications may include both third party applications and network service provider applications.
