Abstract: A two stage door lock for mobile units and similar habitable structures makes use of a relatively thin lock structure secured to the inside face of the door cooperating with a strike pin mounted on a bracket on the exterior of the door frame. Oppositely pivoted latching elements have complementary recessed jaws spring urged toward closed position and adapted to be latched around one or the other of two annular recesses in the strike pin in either a partially closed position or full closed position. A transversely extending rectangular hole slidably accommodates a locking latch bolt, fingers of which slide into recesses at the jaw end of the latching elements to lock them in engagement with the strike pin when the door is in full closed position. When the latch bolt is slid away to unlocked position, a rectangular spindle is rotated by action of a handle to spread the jaws away from engagement with the strike pin. When the jaws do not engage the latch bolt in closed position they cannot be locked by the latch bolt because a shoulder in a rectangular hole prevents the latch bolt from sliding to locked position.

Abstract: Novel wheel trim and method wherein a decorative plastic insert is securely and sealingly retained on a wheel cover by means of an annular flange on the cover overlapping the periphery of the insert. A resilient gasket is deformably sandwiched between the cover and the insert, thereby urging the insert against the flange and securely retaining and sealing the same on the cover. Abstract: A dead bolt latch for a door has a rotating cam lever action for extending the bolt into a strike plate recess in the door frame. The cam has the form of a pivoted arm and is rotated by the tail piece of a lock device. The pivot axis is near one edge of a lock case and engages a cam opening in an actuator slide at the opposite side of the latch case, the actuator slide being attached to the latch bolt. A series of stepped shoulders on the cam lever serve as blockers to prevent retraction of the actuator slide by pressure against the latch bolt so that the latch bolt can be locked in any one of several extended positions and need not occupy a fully extended position to be assured of there being no unauthorized retraction which might otherwise be possible with a partially extended latch bolt.

Abstract: A thin casing adapted to fit in a recess between opposite faces of a door has a front plate mounted flush with the door edge through which extends a reciprocating latch bolt for engagement within an opening of a strike plate mounted upon the adjacent door frame. The latch bolt is spring urged into a normally extended position and is retracted by rotation of either an inside or an outside knob. Rotation of the knobs in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction is transferred rotating one or the other of a pair of hubs mounted within the casing. Roll backs on the hubs engage a lever, one end of which is coupled to the latch bolt and the other end of which is pivotally mounted on the wall of the case. In one form of the device a lock is provided for blocking rotation of the outside knob, while the inside knob is free to withdraw the latch bolt. Openings in the casing on opposite sides of the hubs accomodate threaded sleeves and screws for fastening the knobs in place.

Abstract: A disposable projectile launcher is disclosed in which a round of ammunition includes a tubular case section having a nozzle and enclosing a projectile and a propellant charge and slidably fitting within the rear end of a launcher section so that the two sections can have a shortened, inoperative relationship and an extended, operative relationship. Firing means are connected to the round and include a trigger carried by the launcher section and operable only in the operative relationship of the sections. Abstract: A cylinder assembly located in the chamber of a padlock has a key actuated rotating cylinder plug to which is attached a locking plate. Locking lugs at opposite ends of the locking plate engage notches in the long and short legs of a shackle to hold the shackle in locked position. Engagement of the lugs with the notches is such that when the lug engaging the short leg is clear, the lug engaging the long leg is still partly engaged. For that reason the shackle cannot be unlocked by unauthorized manipulation of a shim inserted through the clearance around the short leg of the shackle to release the locking lug from engagement with the short leg.
