Abstract:
A packet transmission system is disclosed. The system serves between terminal apparatuses that include a supervisory control circuit configured to transmit a supervisory signal in a direction opposite to the transmission direction of a main signal on each of and both of an upstream circuit and a downstream circuit. The packet transmission system transmits overhead information of a packet frame of the main signal of the upstream circuit and the downstream circuit using the supervisory control circuit of the downstream circuit and the upstream circuit, respectively.
Abstract:
The invention addresses the problem of edge bulging and breakout of as cast strip due to a decrease of perfect solid phase shell thickness of the strip caused by heat recuperation of the unsolidified portion of the strip, by providing a chamber 19 which encloses the travel path of a strip 8 delivered from a pair of chilled rolls 1a and 1b, a pair of chilled blocks 29a arranged in the chamber to be positioned near a nip between the chilled rolls 1a and 1b, with each chilled block 29a being shaped for loose fitting over an edge of a strip 8 and being capable of injecting cooling gas toward the edge of the strip 8. When the strip 8 is to be continuously cast, the interior of the chamber 19 provides an inert gas atmosphere, in which the cooling gas injected by the cooling blocks 29a injection-cools the edges of the strip 8 delivered from the chilled rolls 1a and 1b at a position near the nip between the chilled rolls 1a and 1b.
Abstract:
An apparatus for handling sheets of paper has a depositing/dispensing unit for depositing papers put into the apparatus by an operator and for dispensing papers to an operator. Within the apparatus there is a counter unit, a storage box unit and a transporting unit that includes a robot hand for transporting papers between the units. A space is formed within the counter unit between a separating unit and a stacking unit within which the depositing/dispensing unit can move. Also, the space enables maintenance tasks to be performed easily by providing access to the components of the counter unit. The apparatus is capable of handling two kinds of paper in both depositing and dispensing transactions. The counter unit provided with locked covers that prevent access to spaces where paper to be deposited can be stored.
Abstract:
Cooling water is sprayed under a predetermined pressure range and at a predetermined discharge rate over the both surfaces of a sheet to be treated which is reciprocated lengthwise at such a velocity that the product of the reciprocating velocity and thickness of the sheet may be maintained within a predetermined range. The spraying direction of each spray nozzle is individually controlled so that any water remaining over the surface of the sheet may be expelled out. The method and apparatus is especially adapted for use in the normalizing process and in the process for cooling hot-rolled sheet steel.
Abstract:
A toner dispenser having a rotatably driven dispensing roll including a cam and cam follower for imparting an axial, vibratory component of motion to the roll. The vibratory motion inhibits agglomerated masses of toner from collecting in the vicinity of the dispensing roll. In those instances wherein the dispensing roll is grooved and the toner dispenser additionally includes a brush-like wiper for dislodging toner particles from the dispensing roll, the vibratory motion also assists in preventing toner from accumulating in the grooved areas of the roll. That tendency is, however, even more effectively counteracted by additionally including a pawl and ratchet indexing arrangement for occassionally changing the alignment between the wiper and the dispensing roll.
Abstract:
A digital coherent optical receiver includes a processor that is operative to separate electric signals obtained by converting an optical signal into a horizontal signal component and a vertical signal component; to generate a histogram of the horizontal signal component and the vertical signal component as outputs of the equalizing filter; and to determine a presence/absence of local convergence based on distribution of the histogram of the horizontal signal component and the histogram of the vertical signal component.
Abstract:
An illumination tool has an LED light source; and a light reflecting part which is provided at a front of the LED light source. The light reflecting part is given a slant so as to approach the LED light source toward a center.
Abstract:
A pump probe measuring device (1) comprises: an ultrashort optical pulse laser generator (2) for generating a first ultrashort optical pulse train which is a pump light (3a), second and third ultrashort optical pulse trains (3b), (3c) which are probe lights; an optical shutter unit (6) to which the second and the third ultrashort pulse trains (3b), (3c) are introduced; and a detecting unit (20) including an irradiation optical system (8) for directing the pump light (3a), the first probe light (3b) and the second probe light (3c) to a sample (7), a sensor (11) for detecting a probe signal from the sample (7), and a phase-sensitive detecting means (12) connected to the sensor (11). An optical shutter control unit (10) periodically modulates the delay time of the first probe light (3b) and that of the second probe light (3c) with respect to the pump light (3a), and the modulated first and second probe lights (3a), (3b) illuminate the sample (7) alternately to detect the probe signals from the sample (7) by the phase-sensitive detecting means (12) in synchronization with the periodic modulation signal of the delay time.
Abstract:
An optical transmission apparatus including a transmitting OTL processor to rearrange a data string stored in a frame into a plurality of logical lanes, and set a lane ID used to identify in which logical lane a beginning of the data string is arranged among the plurality of logical lanes in a non-scramble area in an overhead of the frame, and a receiving OTL processor to respectively identify the lane IDs included in the data string in the respective physical lanes rearranged, determine a generation state of a bit inversion and a lane replacement for each physical lane, compensate the bit inversion and the lane replacement so that the data string in the respective physical lanes becomes same state as the data string in the respective logical lanes, based on the identified result, and rearrange the compensated data string in the respective logical lanes so as to regenerate the frame.
Abstract:
There is provided an adhesive sheet comprising an adhesive base sheet, an adhesive layer, and a release sheet laminated in sequence from the adhesive base sheet. The release sheet comprises a release agent layer and a release base material laminated in sequence from the adhesive layer. A release force between the release sheet and the adhesive layer is decreased by an external stimulus.
