Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a semiconductor integrated circuit in which semiconductor elements (2) and a wiring structure connecting the semiconductor elements (2) one another are located on a semiconductor substrate (1). In the method or apparatus, a series of wiring elements (4,6,7,9,10), each of which constructs the wiring structure is formed sequentially, then the semiconductor integrated circuit under manufacturing process is washed by neutral solution containing oxidant during the process of forming of the wiring elements (4,6,7,9,10).
Abstract:
The novel benzamide derivative represented by formula (1) and the novel anilide derivative represented by formula (13) of this invention has differentiation-inducing effect, and are, therefore, useful a therapeutic or improving agent for malignant tumors, autoimmune diseases, dermatologic diseases and parasitism. In particular, they are highly effective as an anticancer drug, specifically to a hematologic malignancy and a solid carcinoma.

There is provided a thermoplastic polymer composition containing (i) 100 parts of a block copolymer comprising an aromatic vinyl block and a conjugated diene block, (ii) 5 to 200 parts of a polyurethane block copolymer having a thermoplastic polyurethane block, (iii) 10 to 300 parts of a thermoplastic polyurethane and (iv) 10 to 300 parts of a paraffin oil.
Abstract:
A bobbin thread end holding device in a sewing machine in which an upper thread and a bobbin thread are used holds an end portion of the bobbin thread after cut. The bobbin thread end holding device has a cutter for cutting the upper thread and the bobbin thread, and a bobbin thread control member. The bobbin thread control member includes: a thread control hole into which the upper thread and the bobbin thread are led; and a prolongation extending from the control hole, for outwardly introducing the end portion of the bobbin thread cut by the cutter from the control hole.
Abstract:
A glass run comprises: a vertical run including a vehicle outside seal lip, a curved seal lip, and a coupling portion through which the vehicle outside seal lip and the curve seal lip are coupled to each other; and an inclined run including the vehicle outside seal lip, the curved seal lip, a hollow lip having a hollow, and a coupling portion through which the vehicle outside seal lip, the curve seal lip and the hollow lip are coupled to one another. The vertical run and the inclined run are formed as one unit by molding in such a manner that the vertical run and the inclined run are joined obliquely. The coupling portion of the vertical run has a shift preventing protrusion on the rear surface thereof, and the door sash has an opening which is engageable with the protrusion, so that the inclined run is prevented from being shifted.
Abstract:
A driving method of a liquid crystal display element having plural numbers of scanning electrodes and data electrodes where a J.times.L number (J and L are each integers.gtoreq.2) of scanning electrodes are divided into J subgroups each having L scanning electrodes so that the subgroups are selected and driven as a batch. The subgroups are selected while the following conditions are satisfied: (1) in L=k.multidot.N.multidot.T/.tau., a value satisfying k=10-250 is determined, where L is the number of row electrodes selected, N is the total number of row electrodes, T is a selection time of a single scanning electrode and .tau. is an average response time of a liquid crystal display element; (2) in a selection time, a voltage is applied to the scanning electrodes in a positive or negative direction with respect to an intermediate voltage, and in a non-selection time, the intermediate voltage is applied to the same, (3) for a selection voltage matrix, an orthogonal matrix A having L rows and elements of +1 and -1 which correspond respectively to a positive voltage and a negative voltage, is selected, and (4) in a selection time of the scanning electrode subgroups, application of the voltage is so made that elements of a column vector in the selection voltage matrix correspond to the amplitudes of the voltage to the scanning electrodes forming the scanning electrode subgroups.
Abstract:
A mutant fungus strain which produces a protease with low thermostability and low productivity was made from protease producing fungi and the gene coding for mutant enzyme is isolated from the mutant strain. A promoter which can function in yeast is ligated to the gene and inserted into a plasmid replicable in yeast, and the resulting plasmid is introduced into yeast. The yeast is cultured, thereby producing the mutant enzyme. Furthermore, a gene expressing an enzyme with a far lower thermostability is prepared by site-directed mutagenesis, which is introduced in yeast, thereby producing an enzyme with more distinctively reduced thermostability.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for carrying a plurality of packages. A pivotable support rod having a tubular form defines a hollow inner diameter. The support rod receives packages from a doffing truck and supports the packages in a vertical orientation. A hanger is vertically lowered toward the support rod. The hanger includes package holding pawls located at the ends of longitudinal posts. A longitudinal guide member is centrally located among the posts and extends at least to the holding pawls. The guide member defines an outer diameter that is smaller than the hollow inner diameter of the support rod. The guide member is insertable into the hollow inner diameter of the support rod when the hanger is vertically lowered toward the support rod.
Abstract:
A new antibiotic, named Conagenin, is provided which can exhibit useful carcinostatic or antitumor activities on carcinomas and tumors, particularly malignant tumors, of mammalian animals including man. Conagenin can be produced by fermentation of microorganisms of genus Streptomyces, typically Streptomyces roseosporus MI696-AF3 strain identified under the deposit number FERM BP-2738. Conagenin has formula (I) and is useful for medicinal purposes, particularly as carcinostatic agent or antitumor agent for inhibiting carcinomas and malignant tumors of mammalian animals, including man.
Abstract:
A pneumatic radial tire characterized in that:an inner carcass layer is turned up around each bead core from inside to outside in such a manner as to wrap a bead filler therein;a steel cord reinforcing layer is disposed outside the inner carcass layer;an outer carcass layer is disposed in such a manner that it covers the outside of the steel cord reinforcing layer and its end portion extends to at least near the bead core;a second filler is disposed outside the outer carcass layer;the second filler has a hardness below that of the bead filler and within the range of 70 to 93 in terms of JIS hardness;the cord angle of the steel cord reinforcing layer is from 15.degree. to 30.degree. to a tire circumferential direction; andthe height B of the steel cord reinforcing layer from a bead base to its upper end is specified by the following formula, where; the height of the bead filler from the bead base to its upper end is A the height of the second filler from the bead base to its upper end C and a tire sectional height D:0.2 D B>A (2)
