Abstract:
A time-synchronous lattice-constrained search algorithm is developed and used to process a linguistic model of speech that has a long-contextual-span capability. In the algorithm, hypotheses are represented as traces that include an indication of a current frame, previous frames and future frames. Each frame can include an associated linguistic unit such as a phone or units that are derived from a phone. Additionally, pruning strategies can be applied to speed up the search. Further, word-ending recombination methods are developed to speed up the computation. These methods can effectively deal with an exponentially increased search space.
Abstract:
A novel system for automatic reading tutoring provides effective error detection and reduced false alarms combined with low processing time burdens and response times short enough to maintain a natural, engaging flow of interaction. According to one illustrative embodiment, an automatic reading tutoring method includes displaying a text output and receiving an acoustic input. The acoustic input is modeled with a domain-specific target language model specific to the text output, and with a general-domain garbage language model, both of which may be efficiently constructed as context-free grammars. The domain-specific target language model may be built dynamically or “on-the-fly” based on the currently displayed text (e.g. the story to be read by the user), while the general-domain garbage language model is shared among all different text outputs. User-perceptible tutoring feedback is provided based on the target language model and the garbage language model.
Abstract:
A control method, a control apparatus and a terminal are provided according to embodiments of the present invention. The method includes: receiving a trigger event; determining from the trigger event whether the terminal enters a limited operation mode in which at least one component of the terminal is unusable; generating a first control instruction when it is determined that the terminal enters the limited operation mode; and controlling to turn off power supply to the at least one component terminal according to the first control instruction. With the present invention, it is possible to switch the terminal system between a limited operation mode and a normal operation mode in terms of hardware, thereby saving power and satisfying the low-carbon environmental preservation requirements.
Abstract:
A statistical language model (SLM) may be iteratively refined by considering N-gram counts in new data, and blending the information contained in the new data with the existing SLM. A first group of documents is evaluated to determine the probabilities associated with the different N-grams observed in the documents. An SLM is constructed based on these probabilities. A second group of documents is then evaluated to determine the probabilities associated with each N-gram in that second group. The existing SLM is then evaluated to determine how well it explains the probabilities in the second group of documents, and a weighting parameter is calculated from that evaluation. Using the weighting parameter, a new SLM is then constructed as a weighted average of the existing SLM and the new probabilities.
Abstract:
Technologies pertaining to inferring a view sequence of a user are described herein. A view sequence is an order that graphical objects on a graphical user interface are viewed by a user. A view sequence with respect to graphical objects presented on a graphical user interface is inferred based upon historically observed user actions, such as selection of a link or hovering over respective graphical objects. The view sequence is inferred without employment of sensor equipment that tracks eye movements of users.
Abstract:
An intent engine that automatically detects user intent from messages of a social network (e.g., messages with questions to ask) and outputs intent data. The engine is intelligent in that it can process natural language input such as questions and terms. The user is then directed to an answer page filtered according to the intent data and which proviJoshdes answers related to a question, for example. The intent engine can be designated (e.g., tagged, or “friended”) and then linked into a specialized relationship (e.g., a “friend”). Accordingly, in one example, a URL link is constructed that points to the answer page, with filters configured based on the intent data. The URL is then sent back to the user as a friendly response. When the user selects the link, the user is presented with an answer page that provides answers which match the user intent derived from the user messages.
Abstract:
A method of providing automatic reading tutoring is disclosed. The method includes retrieving a textual indication of a story from a data store and creating a language model including constructing a target context free grammar indicative of a first portion of the story. A first acoustic input is received and a speech recognition engine is employed to recognize the first acoustic input. An output of the speech recognition engine is compared to the language model and a signal indicative of whether the output of the speech recognition matches at least a portion of the target context free grammar is provided.
Abstract:
Architecture that employs a modeling technique based on language modeling to estimate a probability of a document matching the user need as expressed in the query. The modeling technique is based on the data mining results that various portions of a document (e.g., body, title, URL, anchor text, user queries) use different styles of human languages. Thus, the results based on a language can be adapted individually to match the language of query. Since the approach is based on adaptation, the framework also provides a natural means to progressively revise the model as user data are collected. Different styles of languages in a document can be recognized and adapted individually. Background language models are also employed that offer a fallback approach in case the document has incomplete fields of data, and can utilize topical or semantic hierarchy of the knowledge domain.

A track of a road and rail vehicle, comprising: a railway track, and a routing device having a supporting plate and a turnout; wherein the routing device is disposed in front of the railway track and connected to a road; the supporting plate is aligned with the road and capable of moving horizontally and adjusting a direction or an angle of the road and rail vehicle entering the railway track; and the turnout enables the road and rail vehicle to switch between the road and the rail. A road and rail vehicle is also provided.
Abstract:
Parameters for distributions of a hidden trajectory model including means and variances are estimated using an acoustic likelihood function for observation vectors as an objection function for optimization. The estimation includes only acoustic data and not any intermediate estimate on hidden dynamic variables. Gradient ascent methods can be developed for optimizing the acoustic likelihood function.
