Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for avoiding conflicts between evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (eMBMS) operations and paging and/or mobile originated (MO) operations in communication systems. A method for wireless communications by a user Equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes identifying at least one evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS) session available for receiving one or more eMBMS services from a base station. The method also includes taking one or more actions to reduce a conflict between receiving the one or more eMBMS services from the base station and receiving a paging message from the base station during the eMBMS session. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
A client device includes a memory comprising a buffer for buffering data having real-time constraints and a hardware-based processor comprising digital logic circuitry. The processor is configured to execute a real-time application configured to determine times during which the data will be available for download, determine a time at which the data is needed to prevent a buffer underrun for the buffer, and when the data is available, send a request for the data and deadline information representative of the time at which the data is needed to avoid the buffer underrun. In this manner, a sending device can prioritize delivery of the requested data to prevent the buffer underrun for the client device.
Abstract:
In an aspect, a method for a network access node for broadcasting content includes receiving a message from a broadcast coordination entity, the message including information associated with content to be broadcasted to one or more user equipments (UEs), caching the content locally at the network access node, and sending the cached content to the one or more UEs.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE determines whether the UE is located within a sub-region of an MBSFN area based on one or more parameters. The UE receives based on the determination a service over broadcast in the sub-region of the MBSFN area or over unicast outside the sub-region. In an aspect, the MBSFN area may be smaller than a unicast area. In an aspect, adaptive retransmission with a group NACK approach may be used to improve an SNR and reliability.
Abstract:
A network reserves a plurality of temporary mobile group identities (TMGIs). For each of the plurality of reserved TMGIs, the network establishes an evolved multimedia broadcast multicast service (eMBMS) session in at least one preconfigured multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) area. The network receives a request to form an adhoc group communications service enabler (GCSE) group including a plurality of target UEs; an assigns one of the plurality of TMGIs to the adhoc GCSE group.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications. The method generally includes attempting, by a machine type communication (MTC) device, an attach procedure in order to detect a triggering request from an MTC server.
Abstract:
Devices and methods are provided for subscription data optimization in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method may involve receiving an update location request from a mobile entity and forwarding the update location request to a subscriber data repository. The method may involve receiving a profile identifier from the subscriber data repository, the profile identifier corresponding to profile parameters for a subscription service for the mobile entity. The method may also involve accessing a lookup table to determine the profile parameters associated with the profile identifier, and determining whether to authorize the subscription service based at least in part on the profile parameters.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for non-optimized handoffs for wireless communication. For example, the disclosure may be applied to enhance non-optimized handoff from a long-term evolution (LTE) network to an evolved high rate packet data (eHRPD) network. Systems, methods, and apparatus for reducing the interruption gap during handoffs from an LTE radio access network to an eHRPD network are also discussed. In one aspect, a method is provided for communicating information associated with a handoff of a wireless device from a source network to a target network. The method includes fetching a context for a device communicating via a first radio access system of a first network based in part on a unique identifier from a second radio access system of a second network.

Abstract:
Wireless communications systems as described herein may be configured to provide user equipment (UE) assisted information for caching data at a network node external to a core network (CN). In some cases, the UE may provide an acceleration indicator (AI) that a base station may receive and identify as caching information. The base station, upon identifying that the AI is present in an uplink packet, may transmit the packet to a gateway having a local cache. If the uplink packet does not have an AI, the base station may route the uplink packet according to an address (e.g., a uniform resource locator (URL)) contained in the packet.
