Abstract: A kit for dispensing a beverage through a dispense tube comprising a dispense valve, the kit comprising: •—an assembly of a keg (1) and a closure (2), the keg (1) and closure (2) assembly comprising: •a. an inner vent mechanism incorporated in the closure or at the interface of keg and closure, the inner vent mechanism configured to fluidly connect the inner space and intermediate space when an overpressure of predetermined value Poo occurs in the flexible bag; and •b. a safety relief mechanism (8a, 8b, 27) incorporated in the closure (2) or at an interface of closure (2) and keg (1), the safety relief mechanism designed to relief pressure when an overpressure h of predetermined value P01 occurs in the keg, wherein Po1 is larger than Poo; •—a keg connector (38) comprising a base body and: •a) coupling means (40) for connecting the keg connector (31) to the neck portion (5) of the keg (1) or to the closure (2) of said keg; •b) a dispense connector (38a) comprising a dispense tip (38b); •c) a gas connector (39a), comprising a gas tip (39b); characterized in that said connector comprises an overpressure relief vent (41) and an overpressure relief valve (42) to relief pressure when an overpressure in the gas tip (39b) reaches a predetermined overpressure value P02 and in that at least one of following conditions are fulfilled: •i The predetermined overpressure P02 at which the relief valve opens is smaller than Po1; •ii the coupling of the keg connector to the keg or closure increases the overpressure Po1 needed to activate the overpressure mechanism in the closure or at the interface of keg and closure to an overpressure Po1′ larger than Po1, with Po1′ being larger than P02.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrally blow-moulded bag-in-container and preform for blow-moulding the bag-in-container. An inner layer and an outer layer are used, wherein the preform forms a two-layer container upon blow-moulding, and wherein the obtained inner layer of the container releases from the thus obtained outer layer upon introduction of a gas at a point of interface between the two layers. At least one of the inner and outer layers includes at least one additive allowing both inner and outer layers to reach their respective blow-moulding temperatures substantially simultaneously.

Abstract: A beverage dispensing device prepares and dispenses a beverage. The dispensing device includes a housing which has a beverage unit with a liquid inlet and a beverage outlet. The beverage unit has a receiver for at least one container containing a unit dose of concentrated beverage ingredient to be dispensed, and an ingredient discharge. The beverage unit has a liquid line. The liquid line first section extends from the base liquid inlet to a receiver liquid inlet to guide base liquid into the unit dose of beverage ingredient through the beverage discharge into the liquid line second section that extends from the ingredient discharge to the beverage outlet. A mixing chamber is defined in the liquid line. Temperature regulator is provided in the mixing chamber or the mixing chamber comprises an inlet for pressurized fluid for expanding the fluid in the mixing chamber.

Abstract: A device for dispensing liquid from a container includes a dispensing tube to dispense the liquid through a dispensing valve. A gas tube feeds pressurized gas into the container. The upstream end of the gas tube connects to a source of pressurized gas. A three way valve is coupled to the downstream end of the gas tube. The three way valve includes a keg duct in communication with the interior of the container, a gas duct connected to the downstream end of the gas tube, and a vent duct. The three way valve can switch from a dispensing position in which the keg duct is in communication with the gas duct, and out of communication with the vent duct, to a venting position in which the keg duct is in fluid communication with the vent duct and out of fluid communication with the gas duct.

Abstract: A stopcock controls the flow of a liquid under pressure through a dispensing tube with an upstream portion separated by the stopcock from a downstream portion. The stopcock includes a housing portion with a chamber defined by a housing peripheral wall surrounding a longitudinal z-axis. The housing peripheral wall has an inner surface of revolution with a housing inlet opening connectable to the upstream portion of the dispensing tube. The stopcock includes an outlet connector connectable to the downstream portion of the dispensing tube and comprising an outlet opening. A plug defined by a plug outer peripheral wall snugly fitting the inner surface of revolution of the housing peripheral wall. The plug can rotate within the chamber about the longitudinal z-axis. The plug has a through-channel extending from an upstream opening located on the plug outer peripheral wall, to a downstream opening, such that the plug can be rotated about the longitudinal z-axis from a flow position to a sealed position, wherein, the plug outer peripheral wall comprises a seal protrusion topped by a ridge and forming a closed loop defining a blank area of the plug outer peripheral wall, such that, in the sealed position, the housing inlet opening of the housing peripheral wall faces the blank area and is circumscribed within the seal protrusion. The plug outer peripheral wall has a flow protrusion topped by a ridge circumscribing the upstream opening such that, in the flow position, the inlet opening of the cylindrical chamber peripheral wall is circumscribed by the flow protrusion, wherein said flow protrusion preferably shares a common portion of protrusion with the seal protrusion.

Abstract: A keg connector for coupling a dispensing line and gas line to a keg is disclosed having a closure with a sealed dispensing opening and gas opening. The connector has a mono-block body with a top plate structure having a perimeter, upper surface, lower surface, and clamping system. The clamping system has two clamping legs jutting from the lower surface of the top plate, and two levers jutting out of the upper surface of the top plate, each lever has a coupled end fixed to the opposite portions of the perimeter of the top plate as the hinge ends of the two legs. The connecter has a dispensing tube with an upstream portion jutting out of the lower surface of the top plate, and a gas tube with a downstream portion jutting out of the lower surface of the top plate parallel to the upstream portion of the dispensing tube.

Abstract: An appliance for dispensing a beverage is disclosed. The appliance has a housing that defines an inner space for a beverage keg. The keg extends along a gravitational direction, X1, parallel to the gravity field, from a top position to a bottom position, wherein the top position is higher in the gravity field than the bottom position when the appliance is in use. A pressure unit pressurizes the interior of the keg. A tap unit dispenses beverages from the keg driven by pressure. A cooling unit cools the beverage in the keg. The cooling unit is suitable for cooling a specific cold area of the keg's outer wall to a temperature lower than any other point of the keg. The cold area of the keg is located in the top third portion of the keg according to the X1 direction.

Abstract: The invention is an integrally blow-moulded bag-in-container and preform for making it. The bag-in-container has an inner layer forming the bag and an outer layer forming the container, and a mouth fluidly connecting the volume defined by the bag to the atmosphere. The container further has at least one interface vent fluidly connecting the interface between inner and outer layers to the atmosphere, wherein the at least one vent runs parallel to the interface between inner and outer layers and opens to the atmosphere at a location adjacent to, and oriented coaxially with the bag-in-container's mouth. Processes for manufacturing a preform and a bag-in-container as defined above are defined too.
