Abstract: A device may include a photosensitive transistor and a light-emitting diode. The light-emitting diode may include an anode. The anode may include a first portion having a first thickness and a second portion having a second thickness, wherein the second thickness is less than the first thickness. The device may also include driving circuitry that receives a data signal and causes light to emit from the light-emitting diode in response to the data signal. The photosensitive transistor may generate an electrical signal in response to light emitted from the light-emitting diode during the light emission.

Abstract: A method for operating an electronic display includes displaying image frames and receiving operational parameters of the electronic display based on illuminating a sense pixel of at least one row of pixels of the electronic display when displaying the image frames. Abstract: A display device may include rows of pixels that displays image data on a display, data lines coupled to the rows of pixels, and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that outputs a ramp voltage signal including a data voltage to be depicted on a first pixel of the rows of pixels. The display device may also include a capacitor that receives the ramp voltage signal via the DAC and a circuit that sends a control signal to a circuit component that causes the DAC to couple to the capacitor via one of the data lines for a duration of time that comprises a first time when the ramp voltage signal is below the data voltage and a second time when the ramp voltage signal is approximately equal to the data voltage. The capacitor is coupled to the DAC when the ramp voltage signal is greater than zero.

Abstract: An electronic device includes processors that generate image data. The electronic device also includes an electronic display that displays the image data over a first frame duration by programming a first row of display pixels with the image data. The electronic display also displays the image data over the first frame duration by causing the first row of display pixels to emit light for an emission duration that is based at least in part on a first luminance of the image data. The electronic display further displays the image data over the first frame duration by resetting the first row of pixels at least two times before an end of the first frame duration.

Abstract: An apparatus receives current image frame data and data relating to at least one previous image frame for an electronic display. One or more parameters related to hysteresis of transistors in the electronic display are sensed. A correlation device, such as a look-up table, receives the sensed parameter or parameters and the data relating to one or more image frames, and uses this information, at least in part, to output an appropriate compensation signal for the current image frame data. The compensated current image frame data may then be supplied to the electronic display to reduce or eliminate the effects of hysteresis on the displayed image.

Abstract: An electronic device may include an electronic display including display pixels to display an image based on compensated image data. The electronic display may also include a stressed reference pixel to exhibit burn-in related aging in response to one or more stress sessions and a non-stressed reference pixel configured to not undergo the one or more stress sessions. Additionally, the electronic device may include image processing circuitry to determine a panel-specific aging profile based on a comparison between one or more properties of the stressed reference pixel and the one or more properties of the non-stressed reference pixel. The image processing circuitry may also generate one or more gain maps based on the panel-specific aging profile and generate the compensated image data by applying the one or more gain maps to input image data.

Abstract: External compensation of display panels may employ measurement or sensing circuitry configured to measure the output of a pixel and compensate for variations. Due to effects from the sensing circuitry, a mismatch between a target current and the actual current in the pixel may occur. Systems and methods that compensate for the effects from sensing circuitry and reduce or mitigate the mismatch are described. Systems and methods described herein include compensation circuitry that is capable of employing correction factors to compensate for the effects due to the presence of sensing circuitry. Methods for determining the correction factor are also described.
