Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems and methods that enable users to customize operation of a touch-sensitive secondary display. An example method includes: displaying, on primary display, a first UI for a first application; while secondary display is operating in an adaptive display mode: (i) displaying, on a respective portion of the touch-sensitive secondary display, application-specific user interface elements selected based on current state of the first UI; and (ii) receiving a request to operate the secondary display in a persistent mode; in response to receiving the request, operating the touch-sensitive secondary display in the persistent display mode; and after changing focus to a second UI for a second application: displaying, on the primary display, the second UI; and maintaining display, on the respective portion of the secondary display, of UI elements associated with the persistent display mode.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays, on a display, a map that is associated with a first orientation. The electronic device receives a touch input on a touch-sensitive surface, and, in response to receiving the touch input on the touch-sensitive surface, rotates the map on the display in accordance with the touch input. While rotating the map on the display in accordance with the touch input, in response to determining that a displayed orientation of the rotated map corresponds to the first orientation of the map, the electronic device generates a first tactile output.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for dynamically updating a touch-sensitive secondary display. An example method includes receiving a request to open an application and, in response, (i) displaying, on a primary display, a plurality of user interface (UI) objects associated with the application, the plurality including a first UI object displayed with associated content and other UI objects displayed without associated content; and (ii) displaying, on the touch-sensitive secondary display, a set of affordances representing the plurality of UI objects. The method also includes: detecting, via the touch-sensitive secondary display, a swipe gesture in a direction from a first affordance and towards a second affordance, the first affordance representing the first UI object and the second affordance represents a distinct second UI object. In response to detecting the swipe gesture, the method includes: updating the primary display to display associated content for the second UI object.
Abstract:
An electronic device: detects, via one or more input devices, a first input that corresponds to selection of a transport affordance while displaying a content item; and, in response to detecting the selection of the transport affordance, displays, on a display, a transport interface provided to perform one or more operations on the content item, including: a tag modification affordance provided to modify tags associated with the content item; and one or more transport option affordances associated with different selectable options for performing the one or more operations on the content item.
Abstract:
An electronic device: displays, on a display, a user interface that includes one or more user interface elements; and detects a press input by a contact on a touch-sensitive surface at a location that corresponds to a respective user interface element. In response to detecting the press input, the device: if the respective user interface meets first action criteria including a criterion that the respective user interface element is associated with a single option associated with the press input, initiates performance of an action corresponding to the single option; and, if the respective user interface element meets second action criteria including a criterion that the respective user interface element is associated with a first number of options associated with the press input, where the first number is greater than one, displays a first menu overlaid on the user interface with a first set of selectable options.
Abstract:
An example method is performed at a device with a display and a biometric sensor. While the device is in a locked state, the method includes displaying a log-in user interface that is associated with logging in to a first and second user account. While displaying the log-in user interface, the method includes, receiving biometric information, and in response to receiving the biometric information: when the biometric information is consistent with biometric information for the first user account and the first user account does not have an active session, displaying a prompt to input a log-in credential for the first user account; and when the biometric information is consistent with biometric information for the second user account and the second user account does not have an active session on the device, displaying a prompt to input a log-in credential for the second user account.
Abstract:
A device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a user interface including an object. While displaying the user interface, the device detects a first and a second portion of an input, where the first portion includes contact(s) at a location corresponding to the object and the second portion includes movement of the contact(s). In response: upon determining that the second portion was detected shortly after detecting the contact(s): when the first input has a first predefined number of contacts, the device drags the user interface object or a representation; and when the first input has a second predefined number of contacts, the device forgoes the dragging. Further in response, upon determining that the second portion was detected after the contact(s) had been detected at the location for at least the first threshold amount of time, the device drags the user interface object or the representation thereof.
Abstract:
The method for web browsing on a portable device displays a web-browser user interface that includes a currently displayed webpage and an associated tab in a tab row. The currently displayed webpage forms part of a group of webpages. In response to receiving a swipe gesture, it is then determined that the swipe gesture occurs at a location corresponding to the associated tab in the tab row. In response to the swipe gesture occurs at a location corresponding to the associated tab, the currently displayed webpage is no longer displayed, and the tab row is scrolled to display an additional webpage and its associated additional tab. If, however, the swipe gesture occurs at a location on the currently displayed webpage, a webpage navigation function is performed.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems and methods that enable users to customize operation of a touch-sensitive secondary display. An example method includes displaying, at the touch-sensitive secondary display, a system-level affordance for controlling a system-level feature and an affordance for causing display of representations of user-defined workspaces. Receiving a first input at the affordance for causing display of the representations the user-defined workspaces. In response to receiving the first input, displaying, at the touch-sensitive secondary display, a selectable user interface object corresponding to a first window from a first application and a second window from a second application. Receiving a selection, and in response to receiving the second input corresponding to selection of the selectable user interface object corresponding to the first window from the first application and the second window from the second application, displaying the first window from the first application and the second window from the second application.
Abstract:
System and method of moving selected content is disclosed. In response to detecting a first portion of an input that activates a move operation for selected first content, a copy of at least a portion of the first content is displayed in a container object, and the container object is moved from a first placement location to a second placement location relative to a characteristic location of the contact(s) on the touch-screen display. After the movement from the first placement location to the second placement location relative to the characteristic location of the one or more contacts, the container object moves in accordance with movement of the one or more contacts while the container object is maintained at the second placement location relative to the characteristic location of the one or more contacts as the one or more contacts move across the touch-screen display.
